The role contributes to the Production Planning and Scheduling team as a seasoned individual contributor, who works independently with minimal supervision. Helps establish and implement projects, programs, and processes in support of the organization's overall Production Planning and Scheduling strategy. Applies advanced knowledge of the Production Planning and Scheduling field to establish best of class policies, procedures, and plans for the area.
Responsibilities:
Prepares schedules and ensures timely completion of production orders. Ensures delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
Analyses product demand, sales patterns/forecasts, production specifications, and capacity data. Integrates methods based on analyses of trends and the competitive landscape to continually improve the organization's production strategy.
Provides watch outs that could impact the production plans due to constraints and align capacity usage and ramp up as needed. Raises the flag regarding operations issues that could impact back-end capacity and overall shipments.
Monitors planning modules or production planning system and related information.
Manages tools to ensure Operations team has the proper visibility regarding WIP priorities. Monitors production orders from start to ensure the on-time delivery of products and explains any deviations from commitments.
Leads effective communication with the required cross functional teams to ensure optimal performance and results.
Appropriately communicates supply projections to stakeholders outside the site.
As needed, may provide indirect supervision to non-exempt or wage personnel. Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes and responsibilities.
Ensures resources required for production are available and provides guidance on the need of overtime to support customer requirements attainment. Reviews capacity loads and identifies manufacturing constraints. Monitors and anticipates production issues due to capacity and new product launches, and may serve as back up of the capacity planning tasks.
Prepares production reports. Analyzes month end activity to determine the need for supply forecast modification. Recommends revisions. Participates in new product launch meetings and assist in developing new product forecasts and production schedules as needed.
Ensures systems data integrity and accuracy of signals.
Performs and analyses inventory reports, determines production quantities, customer service recovery analysis, manages local events, and short and long-term planning considering demand.
Leads escalations and notifies personnel/management as appropriate. Leads the process or team until resolution.
Drives production scenario planning in potential or evident inventory shortages.
Drives production and distribution indicators (KPI) on monthly/weekly basis and serves as one source of truth to planning parameters and manages or documents the plan of record.
Supports Lean / Six Sigma improvement Kaizens or Opportunities.
Implements programs and innovative initiatives for the organization to advance efficient production initiatives.
Contributes to projects, programs, or processes for the Production Planning and Scheduling area.
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson Credo and C.E.O Leadership behaviors in day-to-day interactions with team.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Bachelors Degree inSupply Chain / Logistics / Business Administration / Engineering / Operations or related discipline preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of supply chain, operations, logistics or relevant experience is required.
Experience in capacity planning or finish goods and/or raw material buying/planning is preferred.
Experience in a regulated environment, Pharma / Medical Devices is preferred.
Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish, read, write, and speak)
Must be a proficient user of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Must be able to work with complex planning tools & have working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Must be able to effectively present information to employees at all levels.
Focuses on accuracy and attention to detail on assigned tasks.
Green Belt Six Sigma Certification preferred.
