Job Description:

This is a hybrid role that requires the candidate to be based in São José dos Campos at least two times per week, candidates must have the availability to go to the site.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor day-to-day import and export activities, ensuring timely issue resolution and appropriate management of customer concerns.
  • Build stakeholder trust through consistent delivery, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Ensure high performance from the contracted 4PL and customs broker across end-to-end activities, enabling delivery of business goals while building long-term capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement through Lean initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and service performance.
  • Develop and implement compliant processes and procedures for all import and export activities.
  • Support the management of all applicable international trade agreement programs.
  • Partner with GTC, Planning, Regulatory Affairs, Warehouse, and other functions to design robust and efficient end-to-end processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customs-related audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Oversee the importation of goods to ensure full compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Develop and implement internal control measures and reporting mechanisms.
  • Partner with the management team to ensure optimal operational performance and results.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and requirements affecting business operations.
  • Lead international transportation service policies, standards, guidelines, technologies, and procedures.
  • Shape and execute international trade processes to deliver CIPs (savings) in alignment with JJ guidelines.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with business priorities and objectives.
  • Act as the key interface with customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Adapt communication effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Manage conflict effectively while balancing business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Capacity to manage people with different levels.
  • Address issues with urgency through structured problem-solving and sound decision-making.
  • Demonstrate integrity, transparency, and strong independent judgment.

Essential knowledge and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade (preferred), Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in International Trade, including import, export, and drawback processes.
  • Fluent in English
  • Intermediate in Spanish
  • Experience managing Brazilian special regimes (Recof, AEO, drawback)
  • Experience with ANVISA related processes and industry will be a Plus
  • Experience managing 3rd party Logistics providers
  • Experience with the Brazilian AEO program
  • Experience in managing people
  • Proactive approach and Ability to Persuade and influence others in a multicultural environment
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the end to end supply chain.
  • Professional certifications such as: APICS, Lean or Six Sigma will be a differential
  • Great communication skills on all levels (bottom up & top down)
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization. Multi sector experience preferred.
  • Quick to learn
