Advanced Energy Platform Marketing Manager | Brazil
Position: Advanced Energy Platform Marketing Manager — Surgery Brazil
Reports to: Marketing Senior Manager, Advanced Surgical Instruments - Surgery Brazil
Position Mission
- Own the marketing strategy and execution for the Advanced Energy platform in Brazil — covering the ultrasonic and advanced bipolar portfolio — with full accountability for demand creation, procedure penetration and mix performance.
- Translate the clinical and economic evidence base of the Advanced Energy portfolio into commercial arguments that reduce discount dependency, accelerate adoption in priority procedures and support value-based pricing in the Brazilian private market.
- Build the marketing foundation for the long-term positioning of Advanced Energy within the robotic surgery ecosystem, ahead of future platform integration in Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Advanced Energy marketing plan for Brazil, with clear procedure-level and account-level growth plays aligned to the BU turnaround priorities.
- Build and continuously strengthen the value argumentation framework for the platform: clinical differentiation (operative safety, thermal spread, vessel sealing performance), economic rationale (OR time reduction, length of stay, transfusion avoidance) and standardization case for hospital networks.
- Design conversion campaigns targeting priority procedures in minimally invasive surgery — including colorectal, bariatric, gynecology, thoracic and hepatobiliary — with clear account-level activation logic.
- Develop competitive response tools for field and clinical teams: positioning vs key competitors across ultrasonic and advanced bipolar categories, objection handling scripts and technical differentiation guides.
- Lead engagement strategy with key opinion leaders and surgical societies relevant to Advanced Energy adoption — including congress presence, proctoring programs and evidence dissemination initiatives.
- Support the development of health economics arguments tailored to the Brazilian private payer and hospital procurement environment — translating clinical evidence into financial language that resonates with CMDO and procurement.
- Coordinate with the Training & Commercial Education team to ensure field competence on value argumentation — not just product features.
- Interface with Global Advanced Energy Marketing: contribute Brazilian market intelligence, procedure trends and competitive dynamics to global forums; adapt global materials for local relevance with speed.
- Monitor product registration status and ANVISA pipeline for new Advanced Energy devices, coordinating with Regulatory Affairs on launch readiness and commercial ramp planning.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in marketing in MedTech or Pharma (or other healthy care-related industries) , with at least 2 years in a platform or product marketing role with direct P&L contribution accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to build value-based commercial arguments from clinical evidence — translating published data into field-ready tools, not just slide decks.
- Experience working across commercial, clinical and regulatory interfaces within a BU or matrix structure.
- Intermediate to advanced English — required for interaction with Global Advanced Energy Marketing and access to international clinical content.
Differentiating Qualifications
- Direct experience with the Advanced Energy category: ultrasonic devices, advanced bipolar, vessel sealing or electrosurgical platforms in a commercial or clinical marketing role would be extremally preferred.
- Knowledge of minimally invasive surgical procedures and the clinical environment in which energy devices are used — direct OR or clinical support experience is a strong asset.
- Background in clinical support or surgical education (scrub tech, OR nurse, biomedical) combined with marketing experience — enables credibility in the clinical selling environment.
- Experience building health economics or budget impact arguments for hospital procurement or payer audiences in the Brazilian market.
- Familiarity with robotic surgery ecosystem dynamics.
- Knowledge of the ANVISA registration process for Class III medical devices and its strategic implications for launch sequencing.
Behavioral Profile
- Platform owner mindset: treats Advanced Energy as a business within the business — owns the full commercial logic, not just the campaign calendar.
- Clinically credible and commercially sharp: earns trust in the OR and in the boardroom, using the same underlying evidence for both audiences.
- Field-connected: regularly in accounts with the commercial and clinical team — understands competitive reality, not just competitive positioning documents.
- Intellectually rigorous: works only with validated clinical and economic data; does not inflate claims or rely on testimonials as a substitute for evidence.
- Execution-focused: builds tools the field actually uses, not assets that live on SharePoint. Measures impact by commercial outcome, not output volume.
