We are searching for the best talent for this SR Commercial Director, based in São Paulo/Brazil.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Brazil, the Senior Commercial Director is a member of the Brazil Leadership Team and leads one of the company’s largest and most strategically important commercial organizations.

The role is accountable for a portfolio representing approximately 50% of the total Innovative Medicine Brazil business, with responsibility for delivering sustained growth, shaping long-term business strategy, building organizational capabilities and ensuring leadership succession across multiple therapeutic areas.

The portfolio includes: Immunology (approximately 70% of the portfolio), Neuroscience, Rare Diseases and Virology

Current brands include: Simponi, Tremfya, Stelara, Spravato, Imaavy, Uptravi, Prezista. (In addition, the organization is preparing for the anticipated launch of Icotyde, further increasing the scale, complexity and strategic importance of the portfolio.)

Organizational Scope

The organization currently includes:

  • 3 Business Unit Directors — PG40

  • 4 Business Unit Heads — PG31

  • Approximately 300 employees across commercial and cross-functional teams

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

The Senior Commercial Director is responsible for:

  • Defining and executing the long-term commercial strategy for one of the largest portfolios within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Brazil.

  • Delivering sustainable business performance while balancing short-term operational objectives with long-term growth ambitions.

  • Serving as a member of the Brazil Leadership Team and contributing to enterprise-wide business decisions, organizational effectiveness and culture.

  • Leading multiple Business Unit Directors and Business Unit Heads while developing a strong succession pipeline and future leadership bench.

  • Driving launch readiness and maximizing the value of future growth assets.

  • Ensuring effective resource allocation, portfolio prioritization and investment decisions to maximize business impact.

  • Strengthening organizational capabilities and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion and high performance.

  • Influencing and aligning senior stakeholders across local, regional and global organizations to deliver enterprise priorities.

  • Representing Brazil within relevant regional and global leadership forums and contributing to broader strategic discussions.

  • Ensuring business execution is conducted in full alignment with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo, compliance standards and patient-focused mission.

The ideal candidate should bring a strong combination of enterprise leadership, commercial excellence, portfolio management and organizational development experience, with the ability to lead at scale in a highly complex and matrixed environment.

  • Proven experience leading large and complex commercial organizations, ideally across multiple brands, therapeutic areas and stages of product lifecycle.

  • Strong track record of delivering sustainable business growth while balancing short-term performance with long-term portfolio strategy.

  • Experience leading senior leaders and developing strong leadership pipelines, including Business Unit Directors and Business Unit Heads.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex portfolios, including mature brands, growth assets and future launch opportunities.

  • Experience driving launch readiness and commercialization excellence for strategic assets.

  • Strong ability to influence and align local, regional and global stakeholders around business priorities and investment decisions.

  • Experience making strategic resource allocation decisions across a large portfolio with competing priorities.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, market access dynamics and external stakeholder environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing, inclusive and accountable organizations.

  • Experience navigating organizational transformation, portfolio evolution and change management.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • MBA, Master’s degree or equivalent advanced business qualification preferred.

  • Fluent English required, with strong executive-level communication skills.

  • Spanish proficiency highly desirable, given the level of interaction across Latin America, regional and global stakeholders.

  • Significant leadership experience in complex, matrixed and multinational organizations.

  • Strong strategic, financial and commercial acumen.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead across local, regional and global organizations.

  • Experience operating within highly regulated healthcare and biopharmaceutical environments preferred.
