Within this context, the Joining portfolio focuses on the digital products, workflows, and experiences that support candidates, hiring managers, HR, and service teams through pre-hire and onboarding moments that shape first impressions and accelerate readiness. The portfolio is responsible for advancing compliant, seamless, and user-centered capabilities that improve hiring-to-start transitions, reduce friction, and strengthen the new hire experience across the enterprise.
The Associate Product Manager, Joining supports the development and execution of product strategy for the Joining domain, translating business needs and user insights into product decisions, prioritized requirements, and delivered capabilities. This role is responsible for owning assigned features or capabilities, with a focus on user experience, adoption, compliance, execution quality, and operational readiness.
Operating within the HR Digital product model, this role partners across Talent Acquisition, HR COEs, Global Services, Digital, Data, Engineering, and Delivery teams to drive end-to-end product outcomes across joining journeys. The role serves as an associate product manager for assigned domain capabilities, supporting prioritization, backlog management, feature delivery, testing readiness, adoption, and operational readiness, while partnering closely with Product Managers and Senior Managers on roadmap alignment and value delivery.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Product Ownership (45%)
Support development and execution of the product roadmap for Joining, aligned to enterprise HR vision and portfolio priorities.
Translate business needs, policy requirements, and user insights into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized enhancements across pre-hire and onboarding workflows.
Own assigned features or capabilities, supporting prioritization decisions and monitoring success metrics related to readiness, completion, experience, efficiency, data quality, and service performance.
Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve the user experience across the product lifecycle.
Contribute to business cases, value hypotheses, and benefits tracking for domain-level initiatives.
Delivery & Cross-Functional Leadership (35%)
Coordinate cross-functional work across Product Delivery, Experience Design, Data, Engineering, Talent Acquisition Operations, and HR Operations to deliver assigned product outcomes.
Manage backlog inputs, dependency tracking, delivery sequencing, and issue resolution for assigned capabilities.
Partner with HR COEs, Global Services, and process owners to balance global standards, local needs, compliance requirements, and user experience.
Identify risks, dependencies, and delivery tradeoffs, escalating as appropriate to Product Managers or Senior Managers.
Support testing readiness, release readiness, change readiness, and operational readiness of delivered capabilities.
Continuous Improvement & Enablement (20%)
Represent the voice of candidates, new hires, hiring managers, HR partners, and service teams through discovery, feedback loops, and analysis of user needs.
Drive continuous improvement through user insights, service performance trends, operational learning, and feature feedback.
Support adoption and enablement by helping stakeholders understand new capabilities, changes, and expected outcomes across joining experiences.
Contribute to product standards, documentation, and ways of working across HR Digital.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, HR technology, digital product delivery, or related roles is required.
A minimum of 2 years of HR or HR-adjacent experience is required.
Experience supporting digital product delivery for assigned capabilities, including requirements definition, backlog management, testing support, release readiness, and operational readiness.
Strong understanding of HR operating models, talent acquisition and onboarding processes, employee service delivery, and digital platform ecosystems.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in complex, matrixed environments and influence through data, analysis, and collaboration.
Proficiency in modern product management and agile delivery practices, including backlog management, prioritization, and iterative value delivery.
Ability to translate complex process and technology concepts into clear product requirements, delivery priorities, and execution decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Workday, recruiting platforms, onboarding solutions, workflow, case management, and broader HR digital ecosystems is preferred.
Experience applying automation, analytics, or AI to recruiting, joining, onboarding, or related HR service workflows is preferred.
