On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
It is anticipated following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by Orthopaedics employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Details of any planned changes would be provided to you by Orthopaedics at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Customer Engagement - Work hand-in-glove with site leadership to ensure that their frustrations and opportunities are fully understood. Actively monitor and analyze the manufacturing value streams for opportunities where innovation can make a direct and positive impact to the business.
- Manufacturing Solution Design and Delivery - Identify new opportunities and collaborate with other teams to formulate realistic, high-impact innovation programmes underpinned by strong return on investment, seeking alignment with key partners and customers.
- Best Value for Money - Develop fully costed and scheduled programmes, secure funding and support for the project from initiation to implementation - from Technology Readiness Level, TRL 1 to TRL 9. Assess internal and external funding opportunities, including government funding and tax incentives, balancing risks and speed of delivery.
- Site Roadmap Ownership - Develop and be accountable for the sites' innovation roadmaps that deliver the required Key Performance Indictors, aligning innovations with site drivers so that a pipeline of impactful innovations is delivered to the site, year on year.
- Programme Delivery - Accountable for programmes - from inception to completion and fostering positive relationships built on trust and mutual value. Ensure the programmes are maintained to schedule, budget and risk management plans, delivering the programmes’ intended benefits.
- Involvement and collaboration - Work collaboratively across different functions to provide balanced assessments of manufacturing solutions and innovations, ensuring customer needs are met with impactful and timely solutions. Contribute to key site/platform initiatives (e.g. JJPS, JJOS).
- Manufacturing Accountability - Optimize site machine utilization and productivity levels. Lead and manage technical staff in the facility, work with global team to place process changes, upgrades, and modifications to site.
- Technology Scouting & New Technology Support – explore the landscape for all relevant manufacturing and business innovation such as coating technologies, 3D printing, machining, inspection, etc., to support the Global Process Owners (GPOs) to access, validate and recommend new manufacturing technologies opportunities. Maintain an active network across industry, academia and suppliers to accelerate technology adoption.
- External & Standards Engagement – maintain active connection with the National Professional Standardization Technical Committee and related bodies to understand regulatory and industry trends, contribute where appropriate, and ensure site alignment with emerging standards.
- SPRINT Center & Material Lab Management – oversee day-to-day operations of the Sprint Center and Material Lab, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations. Own the long-term-capability development roadmap (equipment, talent, program), including budget and resource planning.
- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
