Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Director, Value Stream Leader, Spine Digital, MIS and Biomaterials to sit in Raynham, MA or Zuchwil, Switzerland.

We are seeking a dynamic leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our global supply chain operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Spine, Sports, and CMFT Supply Chain, you will lead the end-to-end supply chain execution of our Spine Biomaterials & Biologics, MIS & Degen, and Enabling Tech business, driving contemporary best practices in manufacturing and supply chain techniques on a global scale. You will be instrumental in integrating acquired entities into our established framework, ensuring seamless operations and innovation.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader who possesses a blend of strategic vision and a hands-on approach to manufacturing and supply chain management. As a key member of the Spine, Sports and CMFT Supply Chain Leadership Team, you will have extensive interaction with the Commercial Spine Platform Team, Spine R&D, and Spine Supply Chain cross-functional leadership, fostering collaboration to support our ambitious goals. This role has a direct impact on patient care, surgeon satisfaction, and business growth by ensuring a resilient, compliant, and scalable supply chain that supports innovation and global demand.

You will implement innovative supply chain strategies that ensure reliability, profitability, and growth for our Orthopaedic business unit. You will serve as the leader of a portfolio of projects and processes across a broad range of product value streams. Primary responsibility is to optimize supply chain process performance based upon end-to-end thinking, making conscious-profitable tradeoffs, and overall product ownership. This person will ensure attainment of Business Objectives and drive Functional Excellence and Accountability.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Foster a strong partnership with Customers and Franchise (both Globally and Regionally) while also managing supply risk within the Spine supply chain.
  • Develop and communicate a continuous Supply Chain Plan aligned with the Spine Business Strategy at all levels, in coordination with key stakeholders while orchestrating required tradeoffs to deliver business objectives.
  • Align metrics and KPls with a focus on Reliability, Innovation, Profitability, and Cash Flow, setting Performance Targets for both Internal and External Manufacturing Operations to achieve goals.
  • Develop and implement processes to manage and balance the Supply Chain Portfolio of projects that support performance improvement across areas such as Reliability, Capacity, NPI, Profitability, Compliance, and SC Digitalization.
  • Balance and drive continuous improvement in Cost, Customer Service, and Product Quality while ensuring minimal compliance risk.
  • Manage capital investments to support Growth and enhance Capital efficiency.
  • Drive ongoing cost improvements in Gross Profit and COGS in line with the Business Strategic Plan and communicate business-related issues / opportunities to the next level of management.
  • Provide strategic vision for the Spine Business and effectively communicate and deploy Supply Chain Strategies to promote Business Growth.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's undergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations, supply chain disciplines, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's degree or MBA

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing leadership roles, with significant scope and complexity
  • 5+ years in people leadership positions
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience partnering with senior commercial and functional leaders to deliver business results.
  • Extensive experience and deep understanding of Value Stream Management (VSM) process ownership, methodologies and frameworks
  • Proven history leading cross-functional and/or global teams to align business capabilities with strategic supply chain goals.
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain processes in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, or comparable industry).
  • Experience with the global demands of the role specifically: multi-cultural / multi country locations
  • Expertise in business capabilities management, with a focus on driving operational excellence, cost productivity, and service performance.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute with precision.
  • Strong project management capabilities and experience in driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred:

  • Operations competencies inclusive of product innovation, planning, customer & logistics services, and manufacturing
  • Direct end-to-end supply chain responsibility in current or previous roles
  • Experience supporting Spine or orthopedic medical device portfolios.
  • Global supply chain leadership experience, including external manufacturing or complex distribution networks.
  • Familiarity / experience with master production schedule process, inventory management, supply chain management
  • Experience navigating regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements in MedTech.
  • Prior experience supporting mergers, separations, or major organizational transformations.
  • Excellent communication, change leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
