FAQ about internships at Johnson & Johnson
All internship interviews at Johnson & Johnson are conducted digitally. Your interview will take place in one of the following formats:
- Pre-recorded interview: You'll record your answers to questions we send you beforehand. Note that you’ll have a chance to review and re-record your answers twice before submitting. Submissions are usually around 10 minutes in length.
- Live video interview: This is like a traditional in-person interview, except that it’s online. Think of it as an opportunity to ask and respond to questions in real time. Live video interviews usually take between 30 minutes and one hour to complete.
For internships in North America, most of our summer internship applications open between August and November for the following summer, with recruiting closing on a rolling basis as roles fill.

We receive a high volume of applications for a limited number of roles each hiring cycle.
That said, we hire interns across a wide range of functions—R&D, engineering, marketing, finance, supply chain, data science, HR and more—in many countries, and at many levels of study, so there are many different pathways to join our team. The strongest applications tend to come from candidates who can match their academic background and demonstrated interests to a specific internship at Johnson & Johnson.
Most of our internships are 10 to 12 weeks in length, although some programs can be longer. The length of the internship will be listed in the job description.
Yes, all of our internships are paid. Compensation varies by role, country, level of study and business segment. Interns may also qualify for benefits, including relocation support.
