Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.​

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a HEMA Manager Korea, located in Seoul, Korea.

The HEMA Manager Korea is a senior individual contributor responsible for end-to-end market access, reimbursement, and pricing strategy for DePuy Synthes products in Korea. The role has flexibility to expand scope beyond Korea (e.g., Hong Kong) in alignment with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Health Technology Assessment(nHTA):Lead and support new health technology assessment for innovative products requiring new procedure codes under the NHI (National Health Insurance) system.

  • Premium Pricing: Secure premium pricing for new or existing products through value-based evidence and differentiated clinical and economic data.

  • Listing & Maintenance: Support listing of reimbursable products in the Medical Devices Reimbursement List (same functional category and same price).

  • Market Access Strategy: Develop and execute reimbursement coding and pricing strategies across the product lifecycle in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Engage with medical societies and key opinion leaders to support advocacy activities related to market access and policy shaping.

  • Policy & Reimbursement Intelligence: Monitor and analyze healthcare policies/reimbursement landscape to identify risks and opportunities impacting market access.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (MPH, MBA, Health Economics).

  • 10+ years of market access / reimbursement experience in the medical industry with a strong understanding of healthcare policy, pricing and reimbursement system, Health Technology Assessment, and pricing decision-making processes gained through experience in intensive payer negotiations.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to drive open conversations and challenge the status quo in a professional and respectful way

  • Fluency in English and Korean (both verbal and writing skills)
