Role Summary

The Director, Strategic Programs & Organizational Engagement is a high-impact leadership role responsible for advancing the GSCS agenda through enterprise-critical programs, executive communications, and organization-wide engagement. Partnering closely with the Head of GSCS and the GSCS Leadership Team, this role translates strategy into clear priorities, compelling narratives, and coordinated actions that strengthen alignment, accelerate execution, and reinforce the value of GSCS across the enterprise.

This leader will shape how strategy is activated across GSCS—establishing governance, aligning portfolios and stakeholders, and ensuring priorities are understood, owned, and measured. The role requires a strong operator and storyteller who can connect strategic intent to business outcomes, influence senior leaders, and drive disciplined execution in a complex, matrixed environment.

Success in this role will depend on the ability to orchestrate leadership forums, engagement mechanisms, and enterprise narratives around priority outcomes—while building trust, enabling decisions, and creating momentum across sector and functional partners.

  • Drive disciplined execution across timelines, budgets, milestones, metrics, and deliverables to ensure measurable business impact.
  • Mobilize cross-functional teams inside and outside GSCS to align resources, remove barriers, and accelerate outcomes.
  • Establish effective governance, decision pathways, and stakeholder communications to maintain momentum and accountability.

Strategic content and narrative creation

  • Shape and steward the GSCS enterprise narrative so leaders and employees clearly understand priorities, trade-offs, expectations, and progress.
  • Develop compelling presentations, messages, and executive-ready materials that translate strategic intent into clear direction and action.
  • Identify and amplify stories, proof points, and impact examples that demonstrate the value, commitments, and enterprise role of GSCS.
  • Support the development of communications that support externally-facing priorities for GSCS and J&J, including the Gartner Top 25 in Supply Chain ranking.
  • Manage external partners that support design, visualization, video production, event execution, and executive communications to deliver high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.

GSCS organizational engagement

  • Lead enterprise-wide engagement strategies for GSCS initiatives, crafting messages and experiences that inform, align, and mobilize leaders and teams around priority actions.
  • Define and optimize the channels, platforms, and communication cadence used to engage the GSCS organization, broader J&J stakeholders, and selected external audiences.

GSCS Leadership engagement support

  • Lead the planning and execution of key GSCS leadership events, including town halls, site visits, and in-person leadership forums across the annual calendar.
  • Provide strategic content and narrative support to the Head of GSCS for presentations, speeches, written communications, and leadership appearances throughout the year.
  • Own the monthly GSCS leadership meeting process, curating agendas and aligning content to leadership priorities and decision needs.
  • Partner with the GSCS Leadership Team and support functions to coordinate deliverables, maintain strategic alignment, and ensure seamless execution.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a strong record of achievement.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in consulting, internal strategy, supply chain, corporate communications, or related fields, with demonstrated career progression.
  • Proven ability to lead complex programs and deliver measurable outcomes across timelines, budgets, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience shaping and executing organizational strategy, driving engagement, and leading through change in a matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complexity, frame decisions, and produce executive-ready materials.
