This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on manufacturing performance by driving process innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The Process Engineering Co-op will lead the development, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes, maximising data-driven decision making, statistical analysis, and advanced engineering methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
What makes this role exciting is the ability to influence how products are made from concept through commercialization, while working with emerging technologies and multi-functional teams to solve sophisticated challenges. The individual in this position will play a key role in shaping the future state of operations by identifying improvement opportunities, increasing equipment effectiveness, establishing robust process standards, and delivering solutions that enhance both product quality and business results. This is a highly visible role with the potential to create measurable impact across manufacturing, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete projects that increase process efficiencies, reduce cycle time, cost, and improve overall quality of execution within assigned department using project management methodologies.
- Makes significant improvements in the assigned areas by using process excellence methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
- Undertakes and successfully completes project tasks to include any of the following: optimizing manufacturing processes, maintaining product/process documentation, testing processes, equipment, raw materials and product, and validating equipment and processes.
- Assist in crafting concepts and designs/approaches for new products/processes/test methods.
- Responsible for presenting business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Qualifcations
Education:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a Science, Engineering, or Business field.
- Incumbent must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, be in good academic standing and have completed at least two years of studies.
Experience and Skills
Required:
- Generally, Requires 0-2 Years Work Experience
Preferred:
- Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is desired.
- Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.
Other:
- Strong Organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record to anticipate, identify, and solve problems.
- Self-motivated and capable of completing job duties with limited supervision.
- Ability to prioritize multiple commitments and technical problem-solving duties.
- Experience in short and long-term project management.
