The Raritan CAR-T facility manufactures CARVYKTI™, a personalized autologous cell therapy product, in collaboration with our partner Legend Biotech, that is significantly improving the lives of patients with Multiple Myeloma. The manufacturing of this CAR-T therapy takes several days through various processing steps and quality control procedures.

Our Raritan, NJ Cell Therapy facility is scaling up operational flows to serve more patients and meet the highest quality standards without compromising manufacturing efficiency.

The Senior Manager, CAR-T Operations Support is accountable for supporting the manufacture of CARVYKTI ® for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain, meeting the needs of our customers and patients worldwide. This role will partner with Legend Biotech leadership to oversee Operational Training and Non-Conformance Investigation teams, as well as any additional operations support projects or initiatives that are identified. The leader in this role will sustain an impactful organization through steadfast focus on safety, product quality, capability development and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of Operations Support for a personalized cell therapy, supporting both clinical and commercial requirements.

  • Build and maintain an environment of innovative continuous improvement, focusing on safety, quality, compliance, operator readiness, cost competitiveness and capacity.

  • Lead supervisory and individual contributors working in Operations Training & Investigations, including hiring and developing people at all levels to grow within and beyond their current roles.

  • Partner effectively with all functions including Quality, Operations and Planning to ensure seamless execution of planned activities.

  • Develop, coordinate, and drive a vision for Operations Support; be passionate about continuously improving performance, technology utilization, cost competitiveness and program effectiveness.

  • Accountable for and foster a culture of regulatory compliance and strong product delivery performance.

  • Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for all employees in the manufacturing function, building highly capable teams, and developing skills and expertise.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, focused degree in Science or Engineering is preferred

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of applicable experience preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred

  • Proven experience in GMP or regulated environment

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, team‑building capability, with the ability to inspire, engage, and develop high‑performing teams.

  • Resilience to address challenges, changes, and unexpected setbacks in a positive way

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence in all directions

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, thriving in a fast paced work environment

Preferred:

  • Experience working in CAR-T or sterile biological/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Extensive experience writing or managing non-conformance investigations

  • Experience with managing or supporting a training program

  • Change management, leading organizations through growth and change

Other:

  • Proficient in English.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot)

  • This role may require up to 10% domestic travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
• Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
• Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
