Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.​

DePuy Synthes is currently recruiting for a Service Center Engineer, based in Siberia-Bogotá, Colombia.

Technical Service is responsible for delivering after-sales support through specialized engineers, ensuring the effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance services for our customers using DePuy Synthes technologies.

We are seeking top talent to join our team as a Service Center Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure devices are maintained in optimal working condition by executing preventive and corrective maintenance in alignment with manufacturer recommendations and defined timelines.
  • Maintain equipment and systems to achieve established product performance metrics.
  • Drive compliance with assigned service KPIs and operational targets (e.g., turnaround time, SLA adherence, quality metrics), contributing to the overall performance of the Service Center.
  • Perform root cause analysis using structured diagnostic processes and implement appropriate corrective actions in compliance with the Complaint Handling process.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal quality management systems, including complaint documentation and resolution tracking.
  • Manage and safeguard assigned company assets, including tools, spare parts inventory, and IT equipment.
  • Support commercial teams in achieving business objectives through technical expertise and service excellence.
  • Provide clear, step-by-step technical support to internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbal.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable quality system requirements and current regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong customer management and problem-solving capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Electronic, or related Engineering fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of medical devices.
  • Proven experience in equipment repair, maintenance program execution, and technical documentation management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical procedures from service manuals in English.
  • Experience within the medical devices or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
  • Valid INVIMA Human Registry certification is mandatory.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI) is required.
  • Languages: Spanish (native) and English (mandatory).
  • Availability to work onsite in Siberia-Bogotá.
  • Having a valid U.S. Visa is considered a plus.
