Co-Ops will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and internal and external partners to generate, analyze, and interpret data that advance upstream process understanding, scalability, productivity, and manufacturing readiness.
You will be responsible:
Depending on the assigned project, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting upstream process development activities involving CHO cell culture, media development, bioreactor operation, and process optimization.
- Designing and executing shake-flask, small-scale bioreactor, and automated high-throughput bioreactor studies.
- Developing correlations between real-time biocapacitance signals and offline viable cell density measurements across different CHO cell lines and media conditions.
- Supporting the development and implementation of dynamic feeding strategies that adjust nutrient feed rates based on real-time cell density measurements.
- Evaluating the impact of media components, feeding strategies, and process parameters on cell culture performance and product quality attributes, including titer, viability, productivity, and galactosylation.
- Supporting development and characterization of small-scale models that represent manufacturing-scale cell culture processes.
- Comparing small-scale and manufacturing-scale process performance to identify conditions that support appropriate process representation and scalability.
- Performing advanced analytics on historical and experimental process and spent-media datasets to identify actionable insights.
- Developing and applying mechanistic, data-driven, or hybrid models to explain and predict process outcomes such as end-of-run titer and cell-specific productivity.
- Designing experiments informed by model outputs, process knowledge, and statistical design principles.
- Analyzing, visualizing, interpreting, and presenting experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques.
- Participating in technical discussions, design of experiments, and problem-solving activities to address knowledge gaps.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners and actively participating in recurring project meetings.
