Johnson & Johnson has announced plans to separate its Orthopaedics business to establish an independent orthopaedics company that will operate as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to applicable legal requirements, including consultations with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as appropriate, as well as regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and clearances.

We are seeking the best talent: Technical Facilities Maintenance Lead, Orthopedics.

Summary:

Support engineering and manufacturing operations by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting machining, finishing, cleaning, and packaging equipment while ensuring compliance with quality standards and accurate documentation. Execute validation and qualification activities for new equipment installations, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives, contributing to manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence.

This role supports the Orthopedics business within Johnson & Johnson MedTech, focusing on the production of high-quality orthopedic implants used in knee, hip, and shoulder joint arthroplasty. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the position helps drive continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance to ensure the delivery of innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as Johnson & Johnson corporate procedures and guidelines, this position:

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Operates and sets up manufacturing equipment which may include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.

· Assists with the installation, setups, and changeovers of machinery.

· Tests and adjusts as needed.

· Assists in the implementation of process improvements.

· Assists with trouble report preparation for malfunctioning equipment.

· Reads and interprets product technical drawings and conducts product inspection using common mechanical inspection equipment

· Works with MRO and partner functions on to identify tooling and consumables in accordance with department procedures.

· Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

· Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

· Responsible for ensuring personnel and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

· Performs other duties assigned as needed

Experience & Education

· Technical Certificate

· Generally, Requires 3+ Years Work Experience.

· At least 1 year of leadership experience

. English B1, Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish across functions and both internally/externally.

Required, Knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and afiliations.

Required:

· Ability to learn and adhere to specific procedures according to the department training plan

· Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Website navigation required.

· Able to work in a Clean Room environment requiring gowning.

· Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to support cross functional teams including Quality, Operations & Engineering.

Preferred

· +6 months of work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

· +6 months basic experience in medical manufacturing

· Training in machining, laser marking, metal finishing, cleaning or packaging operations.

· The ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred.
