We are searching for the best talent for a hybrid Pharmacy Technician in Pittsburgh, PA.
Purpose:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient use under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with federal and state laws, and Patient Service Center policies.
Responsibilities:
Assists pharmacist(s) with pharmacy fulfillment activities for cold chain and ambient products
Communicates with staff about sufficient inventory quantities regarding medication delivery
Assist in inventory audits and management on as needed basis
Adhere to REMS program guidelines and requirements
Fulfillment of prescriptions including, but not limited to: product receipt, lot tracking, and shipping coordination
Accurately enter patient prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system
Perform prescription and patient data entry
Manage prescriber and patient shipment set-up portals
Complete annual/biannual requirements to maintain an active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration
Additional projects and activities assigned
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Perform repetitive tasks such as packing prescription orders
Able to handle frequent bending, reaching, and movement within the work area
Must be able to lift and carry packages up to 10-30 pounds
Must be able to handle materials safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration or be eligible for registration and successfully obtain Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician registration within 60 days of training completion.
Minimum of 2 years’ work experience to be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program
Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
Minimum of 1 year experience of non-commercial pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience performing prescription data entry
