DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, Capital.
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview
The Manager, Capital is responsible for leading capital‑related operations and processes that support DePuy Synthes’ commercial and operational objectives. This role oversees capital equipment, assets, or investment‑related activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness. The Manager plays a key role in driving cross‑functional collaboration, improving capital utilization, and supporting strategic decision‑making that enables business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage capital‑related operations, ensuring effective planning, execution, and oversight of assigned processes.
Supervise, coach, and develop a team responsible for capital transactions, assets, or programs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory or audit requirements.
Partner with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support capital strategy and execution.
Monitor key performance indicators and capital metrics to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer or stakeholder experience.
Support implementation and optimization of systems, tools, and reporting related to capital management.
Act as an escalation point for complex or high‑impact capital‑related issues.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent).
Experience and Skills
Required:
6–8 years of progressive experience in capital operations, commercial operations, finance, or related business functions.
Prior people‑management experience, including coaching and performance management.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes and drive cross‑functional alignment.
Preferred:
Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences.
Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or capital asset management systems.
Experience supporting capital equipment, asset lifecycle management, or large‑scale investments.
Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using data to inform decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.

Language: English (required).
Travel: Up to 20%, primarily domestic.
Certifications: Finance, operations, or project management certifications (preferred).

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
