We are searching for the best talent for a Manager, Academies & Learning Technology to join our J&J Vision team. This position is based in Jacksonville, FL. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.
Purpose: The Manager, Academies & Learning Technology, reports directly to the Associate Director, Commercial Training Academies and Learning Technology. This role ensures learning modules are designed using instructional design and adult learning best practices to drive engagement, knowledge retention, and on-the-job application. This role also maintains effective execution, management, and continual enhancement of learning technology platforms—including Learning Management Systems (LMS), AI simulation tools, and digital learning solutions. The manager ensures these platforms are optimized for user experience, scalability, and personalization, enabling the organization to deliver innovative, engaging, and effective training programs.
You will be responsible for:
- Learning Modules: Apply adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional design (e.g., clear objectives, practice, feedback, spaced reinforcement) to improve the effectiveness and consistency of digital learning modules.
- Partner with SMEs and content developers to translate complex information into learner-centered modules using scenario-based learning, purposeful interactivity, and performance support.
- Platform Management & Optimization: Oversee the daily operations of LMS and AI simulation platforms, ensuring seamless functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders to train AI systems, troubleshoot issues, deploy upgrades, and maintain system security and compliance.
- Implementation: Customize and configure learning platforms to support diverse training curricula and learner needs, including personalized learning journeys.
- Lead technical platform improvements by creating project plans, delivering on schedule, and engaging stakeholders. Oversee vendors, SOWs, invoices, and support.
- Maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials related to learning platforms. Provide technical support and training for end-users, internal trainers, and administrators.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging digital learning technologies, AI advances, and best practices; evaluate their potential application within the organization.
- Use data insights to identify opportunities for feature enhancements or new technology integrations that improve learner outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in in related field is required; relevant certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing Learning Management Systems, digital learning tools, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with AI simulation tools, digital content platforms, and integrating multiple learning technologies.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, and vendor management.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
This position is based in Jacksonville FL. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company. Travel approximately 15-25% as needed.

$102,000.00 - $177,100.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
