Job Overview
This role is responsible for shaping and executing strategic communications and external affairs across the APAC region, supporting DePuy Synthes’ business priorities, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Manager partners closely with regional and market leadership to deliver integrated communications strategies that strengthen trust, enable growth, and support transformation across a diverse, multi‑market environment. This is a highly visible role with meaningful impact on how DePuy Synthes is perceived by employees, customers, media, industry partners, and external stakeholders across APAC.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional APAC communications and external affairs strategies aligned to Global Corporate Affairs priorities and business objectives.
Serve as a strategic communications partner to APAC leadership, providing counsel on reputation management, issues preparedness, and stakeholder engagement.
Lead external communications, including media relations, thought leadership, and corporate storytelling, ensuring consistency with global messaging and local relevance.
Oversee internal communications across the region to support engagement, change management, and business transformation initiatives.
Manage external affairs activities, including engagement with industry associations and key external stakeholders, in partnership with market teams.
Partner cross‑functionally with Legal, Regulatory, Government Affairs, HR, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned, compliant communications.
Provide issues and crisis communications support, including planning, message development, and rapid response when needed.
Lead, coach, and influence regional and market communications resources through a matrixed environment to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field).
Master’s degree preferred (Communications, Business Administration, or related discipline).
Experience and Skills
Required:
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, external affairs, or related fields, aligned to Senior Manager‑level scope.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing regional or multi‑market communications strategies, preferably within APAC.
Strong expertise in media relations, issues management, and executive communications.
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling messages.
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or highly regulated industries.
APAC regional experience supporting diverse markets and cultures.
Experience supporting business transformation, change management, or organizational separation activities.
Demonstrated ability to manage agencies and external partners effectively.
Other:
Language: Fluency in English required; additional APAC languages preferred.
Travel: Ability to travel internationally within APAC as needed (estimated up to 20%).
Certifications: Communications or public relations certifications preferred but not required.
