Purpose: The role of Senior Manager, Business Development - Cardiovascular will be supporting the Heart Recovery, Circulatory Restoration, Electrophysiology and Neurovascular businesses as part of the J&J MedTech Cardiovascular Business Development team. The position will collaborate with internal and external partners to identify, assess, develop, complete and implement transactions and partnerships to drive growth and influence the direction of the business. We are looking for a high-performing individual with demonstrated success working across complex, cross-functional teams and developing business strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across Business Development and with functional leaders to support priority inorganic evaluations and transactions, including licensing, acquisition, co-development, commercial partnerships, equity investments, and other deal structures.

  • Support and coordinate the business development process including target identification, business case creation, opportunity analysis, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and integration planning.

  • Partner closely with J&J Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional partners on transactions, including but not limited to managing or directing project initiation, business case development, due diligence, and contracting.

  • Help internal leaders make informed strategic decisions. Provide suggestions and recommendations to senior leadership on new strategies, opportunities, and tactics.

  • Deliver high quality oral and written presentations for J&J approvals.

  • Monitor markets, competitors, and organizations of potential strategic interest.

  • Build relationships by attending healthcare conferences, industry trade shows, investment conferences, and other sources of intelligence and insights.

  • Ensure project teams are following appropriate healthcare guidelines, including Healthcare Compliance, Quality, and Regulatory.

Qualification

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of experience is required.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry is required, preferably in MedTech.

  • Analytical, financial, negotiation, influencing, project management, decision making, influence, and leadership skills are required.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to be proactive and prioritize responsibilities and lead several projects simultaneously is required.

  • Ability to effectively connect with and influence business leaders across multiple levels and functions is required.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and effective presentation skills are required.

  • Experience and capabilities in finance, accounting, product development, and commercialization are preferred.

  • Experience with corporate business development activities is preferred.

  • History of working with clinicians, inventors, and other intellectual property generators is preferred.

  • This role involves global responsibilities. Domestic and international travel is required up to 20%.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
