Sr. Manager, Q&C Strategy and Organization Engagement
Role summary
The Sr. Manager, Q&C Strategy and Organizational Engagement shapes and drives enterprise-wide enablement of the Quality & Compliance (Q&C) strategy, ensuring priorities are understood, owned, and operationalized across the organization. This role partners closely with the Chief Quality Officer (CQO), Q&C Leadership Team (QCLT), and sector and functional leaders to orchestrate how strategy is activated – aligning leadership forums, engagement mechanisms, and enterprise narratives to priority outcomes. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategic Insights & Performance Management, this role serves as a strategic integrator across leadership, operating rhythms, and engagement levers to drive enterprise alignment, adoption, and sustained impact
Key responsibilities
Q&C Strategic content and narrative creation
Develop and maintain compelling narratives and presentations that enable dissemination of Q&C strategy into clear context, priorities, and actions for Q&C leaders and employees
Identify and amplify stories, impact, and success examples that demonstrate rigorous quality processes and cultural commitment
Identifying internal & external forums to amplify Q&C strategy & impact and shaping narratives for identified forums
Identify, maintain, and manage vendor relationships for Q&C engagement support, ensuring effective and cost competitive delivery of services for design, visualization, video production, event management, executive narratives, etc.
Shape and steward the enterprise narrative for Q&C strategy, ensuring clarity around priorities, trade-offs, and leadership expectations and translate strategic intent into enterprise-level direction by aligning narratives with operating reality and leadership decisions
Identify moments where narrative intervention is required to accelerate alignment and execution and elevate outcomes, proof points, and success examples that reinforce rigorous quality execution and cultural accountability
Q&C organizational engagement
Lead organizational-wide engagement and messaging / narrative implementation of Q&C initiatives: design engagement strategies and craft narratives that educate, align, and mobilize leaders and teams for Q&C priority initiatives
Identify and maintain effective mediums, channels, and cadence for internal organizational engagement (e.g., Viva Engage), internal J&J engagement (e.g., home page stories, videos), and external stakeholder engagement
CQO / Q&C Leadership engagement support
Support CQO and Q&C leaders with operationalizing internal engagement events (e.g., Townhalls, site visits, Quality Month, and other broad org-wide initiatives), including leading planning, promoting, and facilitating key events throughout the annual calendar
Support CQO with content and narrative development as needed throughout the year for presentations, speeches, event appearances, written materials, etc.
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CQO and QCLT, architecting leadership engagements to reinforce strategy and accountability, anticipating strategic and regulatory inflection points, and shaping executive-level narratives as strategic instruments
Effectiveness, continuous improvement, and collaboration
Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to measure engagement effectiveness, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in adoption and outcomes
Identify and pilot efficiencies leveraging new digital and AI solutions to disrupt traditional methods of leadership narrative development and employee engagement
Create templates and playbooks that distill best practices and simplify future execution of similar projects or events
Support other responsibilities, projects, and deliverables across Strategic Insights and Performance Management team as dynamically required, potentially with limited possible advanced planning
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in consulting, internal strategy, and/or corporate communications with demonstrated progression
Proven track record drafting enterprise messaging, leader talking points / scripts / narratives, employee engagement campaigns, or equivalent narrative-focused deliverables
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information, frame decisions, and deliver executive-ready storylines and materials
Experience with and deep knowledge of vendor landscape for design, visualization, video production, event management, executive narratives, etc.
Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing digital, analytics, AI enablement
Demonstrated effectiveness and impact working closely with senior leadership (VP+) of large corporations
Advanced knowledge of / experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Viva Engage, and other software / tools for corporate employee engagement and measurement
Preferred
Exceptional project/program management skills with demonstrated results executing engagement / narrative development campaigns
Ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic, ambiguous environment while managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and deadlines
Fast learner with intellectual curiosity and collaborative mindset open to new ways of working, learning, coaching, feedback, and sharing of knowledge across a fast-paced, high-demand, execution-oriented team
