We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Medical Education Associate to join our Canadian Orthopaedics team (DePuy Synthes). This position is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Remote opportunities within Canada may be considered for the ideal candidate.
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
Purpose:
The Senior Medical Education Associate combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution across the full lifecycle of Medical Education initiatives. These include live and virtual events, preceptorships, conferences, labs, and virtual learning. They will work closely with the National Education Manager to develop professional educational content for the DePuy Synthes orthopaedic portfolio that aligns with healthcare stakeholders needs and promotes high standards of clinical knowledge and dissemination.
You will be responsible for:
Working collaboratively with the National Education Manager and meeting planners, to support the development and execution of a comprehensive medical education strategy, inclusive of learning journey development, digital integration and advancement of knowledge, attitude, skill and adoption principles of learning. (35%)
Project Management for Professional Education Programs, inclusive of national, regional and local professional education events. Oversight includes planning to execution, as well as post-event evaluation analysis and learning journey mapping. Finding digital education engagement, as well as adjunct on-demand educational offerings are also part of the role and responsibility. (25%)
Manage the relationship with the vendor responsible for the administrative and logistical support of medical education events. Monitor vendor performance and provide guidance to ensure events are executed efficiently and effectively. (10%)
Manage all payments and contracts related to DePuy Synthes professional and commercial education. Provide cross-coverage when required. (10%)
Support Commercial Education as a collaborative team player for planning, contracting, execution and evaluation. (10%)
Qualifications:
Required:
University Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in a Marketing/Science, Education, Event Planning or related field is required.
5+ years progressive business experience is required. Project management and project execution is strongly required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is strongly encouraged.
Creative thinker with experience designing, planning and executing educational experiences
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with key healthcare stakeholders and internal colleagues.
Growth and learner mindset with an acumen for learning the technologies, market dynamics and business strategies.
Excellent analytical skills for data insights, data compilation and data management.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and management of external vendor relationships.
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, fast-paced deadline-driven environment. Highly organized, process oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Strong digital acumen including prior experience with Virtual Reality and Learning Management Systems.
Experience managing contracts as well as experience with payments and budget management.
Experience in Medical Affairs OMNI channel integrations and communications.
Up to 30% business travel may be required.
The expected base pay range for this position is $74,000 to $119,025 CAD.
