We are searching for the best talent to join us as an External Supply Planner in Allschwil, Switzerland.

Purpose

The External Supply Planner serves as a strategic liaison between internal Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine customers and external manufacturing sites. The role is responsible for global planning and material management activities for externally manufactured and/or packaged products. By defining, measuring, analyzing, and improving planning and material processes, the position ensures alignment of base business, product launches, long-term objectives, and specific business needs with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine strategic goals. Success in this role is measured through timely order delivery, attainment of inventory targets, and continuity of supply for customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain balanced volume, detailed, and material supply plans while considering operational efficiency, inventory costs, SLOB risk, and customer service.
  • Execute SAP transactions, including the creation and maintenance of Purchase Orders and master data, to ensure reliable MRP/ERP outputs.
  • Proactively identify and manage supply risks by driving short-term and long-term planning activities and resolving day-to-day supply issues.
  • Manage inventory and SLOB processes to maintain accurate and target stock levels across Distribution Centers, External Manufacturing sites, and Contract Manufacturing Organizations.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, IMTs, critical issue resolution activities, and supply chain process enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with E2E Planning, Finance, Procurement, QA/QC, PES, Inventory Management, IT teams, and external suppliers.
  • Communicate forecasts, priorities, and event plans to internal and external manufacturing sites to align capacity, schedules, and service levels.
  • Support S&OP, business planning, new product launches, performance reporting, and global initiatives while driving digital transformation and operational excellence.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, alternative relevant experience will also be considered; a focus in Supply Chain or Business is preferred.
  • APICS and/or Lean Certification is considered an advantage.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated business acumen in Supply Chain and financial processes, combined with proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to establish effective communication, align goals, and drive performance improvements.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to partner with and influence stakeholders with minimal coaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in master production scheduling, inventory management, and/or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience with scenario analysis, Sales & Operations Planning, planning systems such as APO/OMP, and cross-functional business processes within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.

Additional Information

  • Availability to work flexible hours as required to support US, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific business schedules.
  • This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.
