Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Health Care Compliance Senior Director International is a dynamic role in a diverse and fast-paced environment. This role will have responsibility for all Depuy Synthes out of US markets. This role reports to Chief Compliance Officer for Depuy Synthes and partners with the Head of International Business for Depuy Synthes.
The HCC Senior Director International assures compliance with Health Care Compliance (HCC) laws, regulations and industry standards related to the promotion and marketing of health care products and services, interactions with health care professionals and/or government officials, including, FCPA and other anti-corruption laws, off-label promotion, US anti-kickback and false claims statutes, compliance with corporate integrity agreements, deferred prosecution agreements or other settlements (as applicable).
Key Responsibilities
Assures the independence and visibility of compliance activities and reinforces the message that Health Care Compliance (HCC) is a company priority.
Coordinates the resources needed to implement an effective compliance program within business units and across the group.
Oversees implementation of compliance programs across all markets and business units within the region.
Ensures the Compliance Program effectively corrects, prevents, and detects violations of laws, regulations, and policies; and implements corrective actions as needed.
Builds partnerships with senior management to maintain an appropriate culture of compliance and drive a sustainable compliance program.
Regularly reviews the Compliance Program and recommends appropriate revisions and modifications.
Advises senior management and compliance leadership on potential compliance risk areas and recommends implementation of action plans.
Coordinates resources to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of Compliance Programs.
Ensures internal controls can prevent and detect significant instances or patterns of fraud and abuse.
Oversees follow-up and resolution of investigations generated by the program (including for-cause investigations and anonymous reports), as directed by legal counsel.
Reviews investigation results with appropriate management and the Law Department, including development of corrective action plans where appropriate.
Oversees implementation of testing and monitoring programs and related tracking mechanisms.
In consultation with business leadership, HR, and the Law Department, helps ensure mechanisms exist for disciplining instances of non-compliance, and ensures consistency in the application of disciplinary action.
Takes an active role in shaping the external environment, leads industry association activity and interacts with government agencies.
