Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Position Overview

The Manager, Strategic Planning, DPS China, serves as a strategic architect and execution integrator for DPS China’s future growth. The role supports senior leadership in shaping portfolio strategy, ecosystem partnerships, and data‑enabled decision making, while ensuring disciplined execution through strong governance, analytics, and project management.

This role reflects DPS China’s future direction as a growth platform—integrating strategy, market intelligence, and digital enablement to accelerate sustainable value creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. DPS China Strategy & Corporate Development

  • Identify long‑term and near‑term growth opportunities aligned with DPS China’s strategic priorities and platform ambitions

  • Conduct structured analyses of China healthcare market evolution, policy trends, customer models, and competitive dynamics

  • Support development of portfolio strategies, including adjacencies, new business models, and strategic partnerships

  • Translate strategic intent into clearly defined initiatives, success metrics, and execution roadmaps

2. Strategic Initiative & Portfolio Management (PMO)

  • Govern the portfolio of DPS China strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with leadership priorities and resource focus

  • Lead project chartering, implementation planning, milestone tracking, and outcome reviews

  • Act as execution backbone for complex, cross‑functional initiatives spanning Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Digital, and IS

  • Drive execution discipline, risk management, and timely decision escalation

3. Market Intelligence & Share Reporting

  • Lead integrated market intelligence for DPS China, covering market size, segmentation, growth drivers, competitive dynamics, pricing, and customer behavior

  • Own standardized market share and performance reporting, ensuring consistency across internal and external data sources

  • Establish DPS China‑level management dashboards to support S&OP, business reviews, and strategic decision‑making

  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Digital teams to ensure insights are decision‑relevant and action‑oriented

4. Data Catalog & Insight Enablement

  • Support development and maintenance of DPS China’s data catalog, clarifying key data assets, definitions, ownership, and usage standards

  • Promote data transparency and insight reuse across functions and leadership teams

  • Ensure data documentation, version control, and lineage clarity to enable scalable analytics

  • Act as a business steward for data quality and insight consistency

5. IDN / GPO & System‑Level Analytics

  • Lead analytics related to IDN (Integrated Delivery Networks), GPOs, and system‑level customers

  • Analyze consolidation trends, system decision dynamics, and purchasing models to inform DPS China strategy

  • Translate IDN/GPO insights into implications for account strategy, access models, contracting approaches, and partnerships

  • Support prioritization of strategic customers and platforms in line with DPS China’s future commercial model

6. Information Systems (IS) & Analytics Governance

  • Support IS and analytics governance from a business perspective, covering reporting tools, dashboards, analytics platforms, and data usage

  • Act as the bridge between DPS China business teams and IS/Digital, clarifying requirements and prioritizing initiatives

  • Ensure analytics solutions comply with data governance, security, and compliance standards

  • Support adoption and continuous improvement of analytics capabilities across DPS China

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top‑tier university in Business, Economics, Engineering, Healthcare, or related fields

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, or corporate development

  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or data‑enabled business models strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution

Core Competencies

  • Strong strategic structuring and problem‑solving abilities

  • Advanced analytical skills, including business case development and insight synthesis

  • Ability to lead through influence in complex, matrix environments

  • High learning agility and comfort with ambiguity

  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with BI/analytics tools is a plus

  • Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese, written and spoken
