About The Role:
As an Employee Health & Well-being (EHW) Professional, you will be part of our Abiomed site team in Aachen and will be responsible for the operational direction and execution of programs that support employees’ health. A key focus of your role will be occupational health programs.
You will act as the primary point of contact for the site, driving the development of our health culture and ensuring compliance with applicable legal occupational health requirements and J&J standards (with a focus on occupational medicine).
In this role, you will work closely with Senior Management and key stakeholders (including EHS and HR) to align strategic planning, processes, and initiatives, shape the health culture, and ensure ongoing compliance.

Your Responsibilities
Strategy Execution
Implement the site EHW strategy in close collaboration with the EHW team, local management, and other stakeholders—strengthening the health culture and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
Act as a subject matter expert for employee health by analyzing data and internal/external requirements and deriving recommendations for the ongoing development of the site health program.
Analyze, understand, and communicate occupational health risks within the workforce and their impact on business performance to deliver evidence-based solutions.
Enable compliance and health program management by providing process KPIs, conducting reviews, and reporting to key governance bodies.
Ensure audit readiness through analysis, reporting, and management of relevant deviations as well as consistent process documentation.

Stakeholder Management
Maintain smooth communication and close collaboration with site leadership, HR, EHS and people managers to ensure effective coordination and strong working relationships.
Partner closely with the Germany EHW team, EHS, and HR to secure engagement and contributions from other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with sponsors and communicate targeted messages on well-being topics and occupational health initiatives.
Operational Execution
Design, implement, and evaluate needs-based workplace health promotion measures and contribute to the psychosocial risk assessment.
Own the management of the occupational health practice (including vendor/resource management) and continuously improve and coordinate interface processes in close collaboration with the company physician. This includes appointment management, reviewing target groups for medical surveillance programs, and escalating compliance deviations.
With clinical qualification: as applicable, perform functional diagnostics (e.g., vision tests) and blood sampling.
Own on-site medical documentation/records management in strict accordance with legal requirements and internal standards, including data protection guidelines.
Continuously and proactively develop scientific, regulatory, and business knowledge to meet evolving requirements—particularly within the medical discipline.
Collaborate closely with the Occupational Safety/EHS function to identify groups that must be included in medical surveillance programs and support early identification of workplace health risks.
Support people managers and employees, as needed, on questions related to EHW health programs.
Your Qualifications:
Completed professional formation or a degree in a medical field (e.g., medical assistant, emergency medical technician/paramedic, nurse, physician assistant), ideally combined with an occupational health qualification.
An additional completed foundational/advanced program of study in workplace health management or occupational safety is preferred.
Experience and skills:
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, including implementing and running occupational health processes/programs (practice management).
At least 2 years of experience in workplace health management in a large enterprise or in supporting such organizations is a plus.
Experience conducting psychosocial risk assessments is a plus.
Enthusiastic team player with a solution-oriented business partner mindset and a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into concepts and processes.
Strong process and project management skills.
Strong networking skills to build trusted partnerships and connect within and outside the organization.
Critical thinker with excellent prioritization skills across tasks and projects.

Fluent German and English, written and spoken.

€62,500.00 - €97,865.00Benefits:
In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
