Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. We are searching for the best talent for MRO & Indirect Materials Planner, Orthopedics

SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY

The MRO & Indirect Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the availability, control, and cost‑effective management of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and other indirect materials required to support uninterrupted operations. This role owns inventory strategies, purchasing execution, and supplier coordination for indirect materials, balancing service levels with working capital and compliance requirements.

The position serves as the primary interface between Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing systems (e.g., Ariba), ensuring materials are available when needed while minimizing excess inventory and supply risk.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

MRO & Indirect Inventory Management

· Manage MRO and indirect material inventory levels, including min/max parameters, reorder points, and safety stock

· Classify materials based on criticality (critical spares, insurance spares, consumables)

· Analyze historical usage trends and consumption patterns

· Prevent stockouts that could result in equipment downtime

· Reduce excess and obsolete inventory through active review and rationalization

· Maintain accurate inventory records and storage locations

· Partner closely with Maintenance and Operations to understand material needs

· Provide material availability input to maintenance and operational planning

Purchasing & Procurement Execution

· Execute purchase requisitions and orders through Ariba or equivalent purchasing systems

· Ensure compliance with approved suppliers, contracts, and purchasing policies

· Coordinate expediting and follow‑up on open purchase orders as required

· Identify opportunities for cost reduction without increasing operational risk

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management

Systems, Data & Compliance

· Maintain accurate material master data (descriptions, units of measure, lead times)

· Ensure proper transaction discipline in ERP, Ariba, CMMS, or other systems

· Support inventory cycle counts and periodic audits

· Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level

· Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

· For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

· Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

· Performs other duties assigned as needed

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*

· 3–5 years of experience in MRO management, indirect procurement, and/or inventory planning

· Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment preferred

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS*

Technical Skills

· Experience using procurement systems such as Ariba or similar

· Working knowledge of ERP and/or CMMS systems

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

· Understanding of inventory management principles

Interpersonal & Professional Skills

· Strong communication and collaboration skills

· Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, and suppliers

· Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills

· Proactive, problem‑solving mindset
