Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Quality Engineer.

Purpose

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Leiden, The Netherlands.

In this role, we apply quality engineering principles, tools, and techniques to develop, improve, and support systems and processes aligned with company strategy and continuous quality improvement. As part of the quality function, we work together to ensure products, processes, and systems meet regulatory and company requirements while reducing risk and improving performance.

This position supports the full product lifecycle, including development, manufacturing, and post‑market improvements, with a strong focus on compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for

  • Developing, applying, and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems and protocols
  • Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, methods, and equipment to ensure product quality and accuracy
  • Performing statistical analysis to assess process control and manage product quality risks
  • Leading or supporting root cause investigations, including nonconformances, deviations, CAPA, and audit observations
  • Supporting product lifecycle quality activities, including design, manufacturing, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Using statistical tools to define sampling plans and support engineering in process and vendor specifications
  • Reviewing validation documentation (e.g., IQ, OQ, PQ, and software validation) to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Supporting software validation activities in line with applicable regulatory guidelines and throughout the validation lifecycle
  • Participating in pFMEA activities, including documentation and facilitation of risk assessments
  • Investigating nonconforming materials and supporting disposition decisions based on risk and quality standards
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Contributing to audit readiness and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Experience or knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality systems
  • Relevant manufacturing or quality experience (or a combination of education and experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including risk assessment and root cause analysis
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical topics effectively
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a structured way of working
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities
  • Fluent in English
  • Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Greenbelt is preferred
  • Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and uses effective prompting techniques to support efficiency and productivity

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€44 700,00 - €70 840,00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
