Job title: Scientist Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology

Reports to: Ellen Van Damme

About the role

We are seeking a motivated lab-based Scientist to support discovery programs across neuroscience, oncology, and immunology, with a focus on high-content imaging, flow cytometry, and cellular pharmacology.

In this role, you will spend the majority of your time in the laboratory conducting biological experiments and data analyses in collaboration with experienced colleagues, generating reliable data to support discovery programs.

You will join a collaborative team with deep expertise in complex cellular systems, where you will build technical skills, strengthen experimental discipline, and grow through close coaching from experienced colleagues.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to further develop technical expertise in cellular assay biology within a collaborative drug discovery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biological experiments and data analyses to support Neuroscience, Oncology and Immunology discovery programs, with supervisor guidance.
  • Spend the majority of time in the laboratory executing cellular assays, including work with high-content imaging, flow cytometry, and disease-relevant cellular models.

  • Prepare samples, operate laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, acquire data, perform basic quality checks, and maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with ELN, EHS, and internal procedures.
  • Provide input and support troubleshooting of experiments, analyses, and assigned tasks under guidance from more experienced colleagues.
  • Communicate experimental results clearly and in a timely manner to the supervisor and relevant project colleagues.
  • Support project team objectives by delivering assigned experimental work on time and to expected quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and day-to-day lab readiness, including ordering materials where needed to proactively support project work.
  • Assist in developing recommendations for practical improvements to standard procedures under guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–5 years of relevant laboratory experience (industry preferred, but strong academic candidates considered)
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and in vitro assays is required; experience with high-content imaging and/or flow cytometry is preferred, with strong motivation to further develop expertise in these platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to generate reproducible data

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€52,000.00 - €82,685.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
