Purpose:
IM SC Transcend is an IM wide business transformation program. The objective is to implement streamlined and standardized processes on a new global SAP system, together with commercial, supply chain and R&D. The scope entails the following business processes: study management (clinical finished goods), planning & sourcing, manufacturing, packaging and labelling, distribution, warehouse mgt, transportation and global trade, quality and finance.
The Transcend R&D BPO end to end is responsible for identifying capabilities in scope of Transcend which will support business needs and strategies across the R&D supply chain. He/She will define the related business value in working closely with global and site R&D leadership teams. As BPO for R&D you will work closely with the other BPO’s from IM Supply Chain.
You will be responsible to:
- Lead the development of an R&D capability roadmap across business functions, define value opportunities and translate into measurable outcomes.
- Re-engineer and re-design business processes as input to a global R&D Transcend template solution
- Partner with senior R&D Leadership, Innovative Medicine Supply Chain and Transcend Leadership to define the end-to-end process vision for R&D and secure timely decisions on standardization, harmonization
- Influence portfolio management decisions in different functions to prepare for Transcend.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of R&D BPOs by sub process (make, logistics and global trade, study management, plan/source), build process ownership capability
- Embed compliance-by-design and audit readiness across process decisions
- Drive continuous improvement after launch by establishing a sustainable backlog, prioritization model.
- Approximate Percentage of Time & Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
- 40% R&D business strategy, capability roadmap, and value realization management
- 25% Global process re-design, governance, decision forums
- 15% Senior stakeholder engagement, cross-functional convergence
- 10% People leadership, BPO capability building, coaching, and team performance
- 10% Continuous improvement
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree is required, preferably in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, Clinical Supply Chain, Supply Chain, Technology (SAP), or large-scale enterprise transformation programs
- Demonstrated success in global business process re-engineering, ERP-enabled transformation, operating model change, or global template governance in a complex regulated environment.
- Proven ability to set strategic direction, translate business strategy into capability roadmaps.
- Strong people leadership experience, including leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams in a global environment.
- Executive stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, drive alignment, resolve ambiguity, and manage escalations.
- Experience identifying, quantifying, and tracking business value through value hypotheses, critical measures, adoption measures, and performance management.
- Relevant SAP S/4HANA and global template experience, preferably across supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, planning, procurement, quality, data, or clinical supply processes.
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics, frame decisions, and present recommendations to senior governance bodies.
- International travel up to 15%, defined by business needs.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as MBA, PMI, APICS CSCP, Lean/Six Sigma, or equivalent transformation/process re-engineering credentials are an advantage
- Experience working in GxP, SOX, SDLC/CSV, data integrity, and/or regulated system environments, with a strong understanding of compliance-by-design and audit readiness.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale change management, business adoption, and transformation communications across multiple releases or deployment waves.
- Experience with Fit-to-Standard, Agile/PI planning, Jira, Confluence, or comparable transformation delivery methods and tools.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
€119,200.00 - €204,355.00Benefits:
