Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining manufacturing equipment and production assets in a safe, reliable, compliant, and operational state. The role executes preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities while supporting equipment reliability, manufacturing continuity, and continuous improvement initiatives. The technician utilizes the site's eCMMS (Maximo) to document maintenance activities and collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Validation, and external service providers. The responsibilities are aligned with the documented Mentor Leiden maintenance technician role definitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment failures.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
  • Execute and document work orders within Maximo.
  • Accompany and support external service providers during maintenance activities.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintenance excellence programs.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, Quality, and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical vocational diploma or equivalent technical education.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or maintenance environments.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using CMMS/eCMMS systems.
  • Ability to work safely in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical maintenance experience.
  • Electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Basic PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting capability.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Instrumentation and controls experience.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or food manufacturing environments.
  • NEN-3140 certification or willingness to obtain certification.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€35.000,00 - €53.360,00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
