4 ways we go above and beyond for working moms

Going above and beyond to support working moms is standard operating procedure at Johnson & Johnson—and a big part of the reason we’ve been named to Seramount’s annual “100 Best Companies” list for 38 years running. How do we do it? Here’s a brief rundown of what to expect when you join us.

1. Paid parental leave

We offer new moms in the U.S. up to 17 paid weeks off. For employees outside the U.S., we offer new parents of all kinds—maternal, paternal, adoptive or surrogacy-assisted—eight weeks of paid leave during the first year of their family’s new addition.

2. Daycare assistance

Access to affordable, conveniently located, high-quality childcare is a frequent challenge for working parents. To offset this burden for employees in the U.S., we offer childcare discounts through our partnership with a nationwide provider. For employees outside the U.S., we offer childcare centers at many of our sites, as well as discounts for childcare in several countries.

3. Flexible work schedules

We recognize that work/life balance is important—which is why employees can access flexible work schedules. Today, around 75% of our employees are taking advantage of the opportunity.

4. Support with the journey to parenthood

We always celebrate family—no matter the specific form it takes—at Johnson & Johnson, and providing employees with fertility treatments as well as surrogacy and adoption support is a good example of that. In the U.S., our employees can access benefits of up to $35,000 for fertility treatments, $20,000 for adoption (per child under 18) and $20,000 per child for surrogacy. Surrogacy-assisted parents also get eight weeks of paid parental leave.

Key takeaways

At Johnson & Johnson, we strongly believe that providing best-in-class benefits to new parents is the right thing to do. We also know it makes our company stronger. If that matters to you—and you want to help us shape the future of health—check out all of the ways you can join us.
