Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking an Vice President, Clinical Development – Dermatology & Respiratory, to be located in Spring House, PA or Cambridge, MA.

The Vice President, Clinical Development – Dermatology & Respiratory is accountable for the design, execution, and reporting of late-stage Phase II and III clinical development programs across Dermatology and Respiratory indications within the Immunology portfolio. The role partners closely with the Head of Clinical Development and Heads of Early and Late Development to refine the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of drug development. As a member of the Immunology Development Leadership Team, this role contributes to talent strategy, operational excellence, innovation, and portfolio impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overall strategy and execution of all late-stage Phase II and III Dermatology and Respiratory clinical development programs through product licensing.
  • Contribute to Immunology Therapeutic Area (TA) strategy and governance bodies and lead program reviews within the J&J R&D governance structure.
  • Define late-stage development approaches supporting Business Development and licensing activities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of global late-phase clinical trials.
  • Ensure delivery of innovative, fit-for-purpose development strategies addressing unmet need in skin and airway disease.
  • Maintain accountability for global regulatory submissions and oversight of clinical sections of agency filings.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of physicians and clinical scientists.
  • Collaborate closely across DAS, PAS, Discovery, Clinical Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Business Development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global scientific leaders, regulators, and patient advocacy organizations.

Education and Experience

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. required.
  • Advanced training or board certification in Dermatology, Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, or related fields preferred.
  • 12–15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech drug development, including leadership of late-stage programs and regulatory submissions.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven visionary and strategic leadership capability.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Deep expertise in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases and clinical development execution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation, scientific rigor, and patient impact.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$258,000 - $476,100
