Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, Strategic Support Deployment ; this Hybrid position will be in New Brunswick, NJ (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations may be considered at Raynham, MA, (USA), Raritan, NJ (USA), or West Chester, PA (USA).

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Position Summary

The Director, Strategic Support Deployment is responsible for leading enterprise-level strategic initiatives and deployment execution across Real Estate, Facilities Management, and Corporate Operations. This role serves as the strategy execution lead for complex, multi-region portfolios, ensuring alignment between enterprise strategy, operational delivery, financial discipline, and executive governance.

The role operates as a central deployment and enablement leader, owning portfolio strategy, governance, and decision enablement—while scaling these capabilities across real estate and operational infrastructure that support business transformation, separation activities, and long-term footprint optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Deployment & Execution Enablement

  • Develop, manage, and continuously refine the enterprise portfolio of Real Estate, Facilities, and Corporate Operations strategic initiatives, aligned to cost, risk, growth, separation, and operating model objectives

  • Drive the development, deployment, and ongoing management of the Global Real Estate, Real Estate Management & Corporate Operations strategy, including the governance required to manage the portfolio of strategic programs and projects.

  • Translate enterprise and functional strategies into clear deployment roadmaps, milestones, and execution plans across regions

  • Lead and support cross‑functional initiatives that require coordination across markets, regions and global teams

  • Ensure strategy is consistently interpreted and executed across regions, functions, and delivery teams

  • Serve as the primary integration point across Real Estate, Facilities, EHS, Security, IT, Finance, ensuring work is not duplicated and insights are shared

  • Partner with Finance to understand performance drivers and translate data into clear implications and actions

  • Lead Strategic Planning cycles and ensure alignment between strategy, execution roadmaps, and the Long‑Range Financial Plan (LRFP)

Operating Model & Governance Support

  • Design, establish, and facilitate governance forums, including cadence, agendas, decision rights, participation, and action tracking

  • Reinforce governance discipline by ensuring leaders are focused on making the right decisions at the right level, at the right time.

  • Enable disciplined execution through standard project and program management tools, providing transparency across scope, cost, schedule, and risk

  • Enable transparency and accountability through clear metrics and progress tracking

  • Support preparation for internal/external meetings and ensure follow‑up actions are executed

Problem Solving

  • Proactively identify execution risks, capacity gaps, and systemic breakdowns, deploying focused support to stabilize and improve performance

  • Implement an agile and disciplined prioritization process to sequence the portfolio, allocate resources effectively, and ensure benefits are realized

  • Serve as an extension of the VP, driving alignment, escalation, and resolution across senior stakeholders

  • Build scalable deployment capabilities that increase execution speed, predictability, and transparency

  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, standardization, and simplification across the real estate and facilities lifecycle

  • Capture and embed lessons learned, best practices, and continuous improvement to enhance deployment performance and stakeholder experience

CrossFunctional & Regional Leadership

  • Drive alignment across regional deployment teams (NA, EMEA, APAC, LATAM) while respecting local constraints and regulatory requirements

  • Provide hands-on leadership for high-risk or high-complexity initiatives, resolving issues and accelerating delivery

Executive Insight & Communication

  • Provide the VP with clear, decision‑oriented insight on execution health, risks, and intervention needs

  • Travel with the VP, as required to key markets, leadership meetings and external engagements

  • Drive enterprise‑level storytelling and develop executive communications to consistently articulate strategy, progress, and performance against key milestones and metrics

  • Shape and maintain a cohesive internal strategy narrative and shape internal leadership communications, including town halls, strategy sessions, and enterprise updates

Qualifications:

  • Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in roles such as frontline sales, commercial excellence, strategic roles, PMO or business operations

  • Strong project management and execution capability in complex, matrixed environments

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, imperfect data into clear insights and implications

  • Comfort working with financials, performance metrics and analytics; able to ask the right questions and spot what matters

  • Experience working closely with senior leaders and leadership teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear, concise executive‑level outputs

  • High learning agility, intellectual curiosity and comfort operating in ambiguity

  • Strong judgment on when to intervene, escalate, or enable teams to execute independently

  • Proven ability to lead through influence in highly matrixed organizations.

  • Skilled at aligning senior leaders around shared priorities and decisions

  • Ability to quickly diagnose execution challenges and design practical, scalable solutions

Other:

  • Travel up to 50%, including international travel across Americas.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
