Overall purpose of job:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing field sales team to deliver sustainable business growth across the assigned territory. This role plays a critical part in executing the commercial strategy, strengthening customer relationships, and driving excellence in execution across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Drive execution of the country commercial strategy across the territory, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
  • Build strong relationships with Eye Care Professionals (ECPs), Key Accounts, and strategic customers
  • Ensure effective territory planning, segmentation, and call execution to maximize productivity and impact
  • Monitor performance through data-driven insights (KPIs, BI tools) and take proactive actions to close gaps
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Key Account Management, Professional Education, and other stakeholders
  • Identify growth opportunities and implement local initiatives to accelerate business performance
  • Lead by example through field visits, coaching sessions, and joint customer engagements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and healthcare regulations
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and engaging team culture

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Life Sciences, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, preferably within healthcare, medical devices, or FMCG
  • Proven track record in team management and delivering strong commercial results
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills
  • Experience working with key accounts and complex customer environments
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for decision-making
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in Turkish and English (Both written and verbal)
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region
