As the Software Test Manager in RAD you will be building and leading the team that creates and executes software testing procedures for a complex real-time medical robotic system. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to help us revolutionize the world of medical robotics. The ideal candidate has both management and hands-on experience developing and executing software tests for complex robotic systems. We are looking for someone who considers testing their true passion and strives to bring software to an exceptional level of reliability, and is flexible, self-motivated, curious, and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Software Test team through the entire software development lifecycle including development testing, verification, validation, and release.

  • Champion efforts to improve utilization of automated test techniques in support of software development, build and release activities, and formal testing.

  • Review all testing deliverables such as test plans, test protocols, scripts, and test reports

  • Collaborate closely with other leaders in organizations including Engineering, Clinical, Quality, and Regulatory.

  • Help define team goals, budgets, and plans in cooperation with the other engineering managers.

  • Grow the team according to the hiring plan and budget, work closely with recruiters for employee on-boarding.

  • Manage contractors and consulting firms involved with the team.

  • Coach and mentor employees for future growth.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of experience leading a software test team as a manager or technical lead; 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience preferably with complex medical devices.

  • Deep knowledge of white/gray/black box testing methodologies with hands-on experience.

  • Ability to supervise, train, recruit, and develop staff; Flexibility and adaptability to changing daily activities and schedules

  • Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and proofread effectively and clearly and persuasively for various audiences.

  • High-level of interpersonal skills demonstrated in interactions with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the organization.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; adept at working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Technical proficiency with association management software, database skills; experience in effective use of SW tools.

  • Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to IEC 62304, ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.

  • May be assigned other duties or special projects as necessary.

  • Experience with JIRA or any similar defect tracking tool.

  • Experience testing software for complex electro-mechanical systems.

  • Experience with automated GUI testing tools.

  • Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.

  • Knowledge of robotic control architecture.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, international and domestic, is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

Salary Range $134,000 - $231,150 Bay Area Only
