Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Clinical Consultant (Impella Specialist) plays a pivotal role in driving the adoption and clinical success of the Impella platform within designated regions. This hybrid role combines business development, clinical expertise, and hands-on support to ensure healthcare providers leverage Impella’s life-saving therapies effectively. The incumbent will collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g., cardiologists, surgeons, nursing staff) to deliver technical guidance, therapy optimization, surgical assistance (during procedures), and post-implementation support. The goal is to enhance patient outcomes, build product credibility, and expand market penetration through trusted clinical partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Impella Business Development:

- Develop and execute regional strategies to promote Impella devices (e.g., CPSA) within hospitals and healthcare systems.

- Identify target accounts, build relationships with clinical leads, and generate demand through educational presentations and data-driven insights.

- Collaborate with sales teams to achieve quarterly/annual adoption goals, focusing on high-priority accounts and regional growth opportunities.

2. Clinical Therapy Guidance:

- Provide pre- and post-implantation support to clinical teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.

- Conduct training sessions (in-person and virtual) on Impella device mechanics, implantation techniques, troubleshooting, and post-operative care.

- Develop customized therapy plans in collaboration with treating physicians, considering patient-specific factors and clinical guidelines.

3. Surgical Support (Case Coverage):

- Act as an in-situ resource during Impella implantation procedures, providing technical guidance and ensuring procedural success.

- Assist surgical teams in device setup, real-time monitoring, and immediate troubleshooting during cases.

- Document procedural details, outcomes, and adverse events for continuous quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

4. Customer Management & Post-Implementation Support:

- Maintain regular communication with clinical champions and administrators to address concerns, gather feedback, and drive long-term adoption.

- Monitor device utilization data, analyze performance metrics, and recommend optimization strategies to improve clinical outcomes.

- Support post-implantation follow-ups, including device management training for nursing staff and ongoing performance monitoring.

5. Compliance & Knowledge Sharing:

- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, local health authorities), and ethical standards.

- Stay abreast of industry trends, medical literature, and product updates to maintain clinical thought leadership.

- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing (e.g., case studies, best practice summaries) and assist in developing training materials.
