Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.​

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Account Lead, located in Bogotá, Colombia.

The Account Lead is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth and strengthening long‑term customer relationships across a defined portfolio of strategic accounts. This role leads the commercial strategy at the account level, aligns cross‑functional resources, and serves as the primary point of contact for key customers. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by expanding access to innovative orthopedic solutions while shaping the commercial success of DePuy Synthes in Colombia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute account‑level commercial strategies to achieve sales, growth, and profitability objectives across assigned accounts.

  • Build, maintain, and expand long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers, influencers, and stakeholders within customer organizations.

  • Lead complex sales cycles, including contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and volume or portfolio agreements in line with company policies.

  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain, clinical, and customer support) to deliver comprehensive, customer‑focused solutions.

  • Analyze account performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities and risks.

  • Develop accurate forecasts, pipeline plans, and account reviews to support short‑ and long‑term business planning.

  • Ensure full compliance with Johnson & Johnson policies, local regulations, and ethical selling standards in all customer interactions.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in commercial sales, account management, or business development within medical devices, healthcare, or a similarly regulated industry, aligned to this job level.

  • Proven ability to manage and grow strategic accounts and navigate complex buying environments.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated capability to analyze data, develop insights, and translate them into actionable commercial plans.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across cross‑functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in orthopedic, MedTech, or hospital‑based selling environments.

  • Familiarity with tender processes, institutional accounts, and long‑term commercial agreements.

  • Experience leading or influencing account strategy without direct line management responsibility.

Other:

  • Languages: Fluent in Spanish; working proficiency in English preferred.

  • Travel: Up to ~30–40% domestic travel within Colombia; limited regional travel as needed.

  • Certifications: None required; relevant sales or healthcare certifications are a plus.

  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required for customer travel.
