Purpose:

This role leads a capital sales team in a matrix environment, driving clinical sales growth, coaching managers and individual contributors, and ensuring strong execution across sales processes, customer satisfaction, team operations, and performance management. The position also contributes to product and software improvement efforts while aligning team decisions with Johnson & Johnson’s values and leadership principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead managers, supervisors, and individual contributors in a matrix environment.
  • Conduct effective performance management and meaningful career development conversations.
  • Communicate direction for capital sales processes and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify new accounts, prospects, and opportunities to grow clinical sales.
  • Coach the team on capital sales best practices, including post-sale implementation and support.
  • Help ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales and post-sale experience.
  • Provide input and ideas for new product development and software enhancements.
  • Evaluate sales performance, materials, budgets, processes, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Manage team operations, including workflow, performance, compliance, timelines, and budgets.
  • Drive achievement of team goals within established timelines and financial targets.
  • Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision-making.
  • Participate in a role eligible for sales incentives and commissions.

Requirements

  • Years of Experience: 10-12 years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering
  • MBA desired
  • Proven experience and solid track record in sales and marketing positions
  • English: Advanced
  • Travel percentage: 15%

Additional Requirements

  • Experience leading managers, supervisors, and/or individual contributors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organizational environment.
  • Strong background in capital sales, clinical sales, or related commercial leadership.
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities and customer accounts.
  • Experience supporting post-sale implementation and customer success initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating performance, budgets, and operational effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of compliance, workflow management, and team operations.
  • Ability to align team execution with broader organizational goals and values.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
