Purpose of the Role
The Surgical Specialist drives territory sales growth by providing clinical, technical, and commercial support for Surgical Vision products, including cataract and refractive surgery solutions. This role partners closely with ophthalmic surgeons and hospital stakeholders to accelerate product adoption, influence clinical decision-making, and expand market share. With a strong focus on revenue delivery, the position directly contributes to business growth through account expansion, new opportunity conversion, and an attractive commission and incentive structure tied to performance
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and market share within the assigned territory
Own and expand key accounts, increasing product adoption and usage
Identify and convert new business opportunities across hospitals and clinics
Provide in-theatre (OR) support to strengthen customer confidence and accelerate deal closure
Partner with surgeons to influence product preference and clinical decision-making
Execute territory plans to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs
Build strong relationships with KOLs and key decision makers to unlock business growth
Deliver impactful product demonstrations, training, and value-based selling
Gather market intelligence and competitor insights to drive winning strategies
Ensure full compliance while supporting commercial and business objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Life Sciences, Optometry, or related field
2–5 years of experience in medical device sales, clinical support, or surgical environment
Strong commercial mindset with proven ability to drive sales and account growth
Confident working in operating room (OR) settings and engaging with surgeons
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, results-driven, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment
