Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, LATAM Professional Relations & Operations (PR&O), located in Sao Paulo, Brazil

The LATAM PR&O Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the regional PR&O function across LATAM within a horizontal operating model. The role provides regional leadership, governance, and coordination across PR&O disciplines, including Records & Operations, Contract Management, Event Management, Logistics, and PR&O process execution.

This role sits at the regional level and acts as the primary point of accountability for PR&O performance, ensuring consistent execution, alignment, and coordination across LATAM teams. The PR&O Regional Manager leads supervisors, coordinators, specialists, and analysts, and ensures that PR&O activities are structured, integrated, and aligned with regional priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Regional PR&O and Educational Technology (EdTech) function across LATAM, overseeing the execution of PR&O processes and ensuring consistent delivery against established company standards across countries.

  • Provide regional representation in global PR&O forums, acting as the primary liaison between LATAM and global teams to ensure alignment with global strategies and clear communication of regional priorities and challenges.

  • Set strategic direction for PR&O process optimization, leading regional initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency, consistency, service quality, and cost‑effectiveness across PR&O activities.

  • Lead and develop PR&O supervisors and coordinators, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure effective management of their respective domains and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships across PR&O, EdTech, and other business units, ensuring aligned expectations, effective communication, and seamless process integration.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence, overseeing the delivery of high‑quality PR&O services and driving timely resolution of service issues and improvement initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within PR&O by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and leading change initiatives that support long‑term operational excellence

  • Ensure compliance and risk management across PR&O activities, overseeing adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and applicable standards, and ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are implemented.

  • Monitor PR&O performance and OKRs, reviewing regional results, providing visibility to leadership, and driving corrective actions to achieve operational and quality objectives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • +8 years of experience in operations, process management, or coordination roles within regional or multi‑country organizations.

  • Demonstrated people‑leadership experience, including leading supervisors, coordinators, specialists, or analysts.

  • Strong experience operating within structured operational or shared‑service models.

  • Proven ability to lead regional processes, ensure execution consistency, and manage cross‑country coordination.

  • Experience engaging with global stakeholders and representing regional needs in global forums.

  • Strong understanding of process governance, execution discipline, and operational performance management.

  • Ability to manage complexity across multiple functions and markets while maintaining alignment and accountability.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in medical devices, orthopedics, or other regulated healthcare environments.

  • Experience working across multiple markets or geographies within a regional structure.

Other:

  • Languages: Portuguese and English proficiency required for regional and global collaboration.

  • Travel: Up to ~20% regional travel.

  • Tools: Proficiency in standard office tools (presentations, spreadsheets, dashboards).
