Responsible for the execution and supervision of the maintenance and repair of all production related equipment to ensure reliable and consistent operations within Plant economic and safety requirements. Directs and coordinates the activities of Technicians personnel in a designated manufacturing area, applying knowledge of asset management methods, processes, machine and equipment, and production capacities. Proactively meets corporate/divisional and organizational requirements for regulatory compliance with all local and federal agencies. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.
Responsibilities:
Measures and track subordinates’ performance and develops training programs to maintain optimum service levels and to obtains maximum productivity and efficiency.
Supervises and coordinates contracted services to adhere with GMP and plant procedures and requirements.
Creates short to midrange plans to carry out objectives established by management. Supervises operation, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls to the related manufacturing equipment. Responsible for overall equipment performance & maintains equipment downtime to an acceptable level; supports equipment upgrades/new installations.
Maintains and follows preventive maintenance, corrective, predictive programs for manufacturing equipment. Keep close communication with Maintenance Planner to assure plan accuracy.
Assures adequate spare parts, tools, and other items needed to perform the maintenance work duties. Keep close communication with Spare Parts Administrator to confirm parts availability to avoid maintenance delay. Assure that technicians have the adequate tools and provide the tool required for their works.
Keep excellent relation and communication with other departments (i.e., QA, Operations, EHS, etc.).
Supervises and monitor technicians execution to assure and adhere with GMP, optimum time completion, assure costs, productivity, yields, lead time, service levels, and inventory control (spare parts) activities are in line with business goals.
Supports validation activities to assure proposals are in line with manufacturing expectations, providing technicians personnel when required.
Provides administrative support to business and quality systems representing the process area being supervised.
Align with production operations schedules, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing / operations needs, utilizing knowledge of equipment / machine maintenance / asset management methods, and human resources requirements. Maintains adequate floor control. Participate proactively in the corresponding Tiers and Passdown meeting with Operations.
Responsible for goal setting and developmental activity of employees under their responsibilities. Monitors and provides continuous feedback on employee’s performance and determines required actions.
Promotes and assures a safety and teamwork environment according to the organizations values.
Conducts weekly audits within production areas to ensure continued GMP compliance and equipment meet the specifications and regulations.
Facilitates communication to associates and create a Credo based environment.
Ensures correct policies and guidelines are followed to maintain compliance with all regulatory and corporate policies (Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards, etc.).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in a maintenance manufacturing environment is required.
Experience working at medical device industry preferred.
Able to read, speak, and write Spanish and English.
Strong leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience as a lead or supervisor.
Knowledge of FDA regulations is preferred
Must be computer literate in email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to develop and meet deadlines, and be able to delegate and follow-up.
Skills in the following areas: Conflict Resolution, Managing for Performance/Accountability and documenting issues, as well as developing leadership and ownership in individuals.
Responsible for pro-active people management.
