Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Counsel/Legal Director, Supply Chain for our Electrophysiology and Neurovascular businesses.

The Senior Counsel/Legal Director MedTech Supply Chain Electrophysiology and Neurovascular will provide legal support to the Electrophysiology and Neurovascular Supply Chain organization and the External Manufacturing categories of procurement, dealing with a complex and broad variety of issues. This is a global leadership role supporting critical areas of the MedTech business and will be part of the Global Electrophysiology and Neurovascular Supply Chain Leadership Team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Serving as Lead Attorney to the Electrophysiology and Neurovascular Supply Chain Leadership Team; being an active member of that Leadership team and providing strategic counsel to advance the Team’s goals.
  • Leading the legal support provided to the Electrophysiology and Neurovascular Sourcing Team, including the categories of procurement that sit within that team’s responsibilities under the new procurement model.
  • Leading the legal support for External Manufacturing and MedTech procurement.
  • Offering supervision and advice to the members of the Contract Management Organization that support the contracting work associated with the above supply chain activities.
  • Providing strategic legal advice and pragmatic, risk-based, legal counsel on supply chain issues, including advising on supplier disputes and other issues.
  • Managing the drafting and negotiation of complex supply (chain) agreements associated with the above Supply Chain organizations, including master supply and external manufacturing agreements.
  • Advising on proposed regulations that have a high impact on current and future supply chain activities and helping to shape the response to these regulations (e.g., import/export, trade controls, govt. incentives for local manufacturing, supply chain shortages).
  • Proactively assessing and managing legal risk for the end-to-end supply chain worldwide. Coordinating legal support on any complex issues by collaborating closely with other functional groups, including the Legal Strategy, Operations & Risk Management, R&D, Regulatory Legal, IP, Commercial Legal, Privacy, Communications, Quality, EHS and HCC Groups.
  • Being an agent of change by helping to drive adherence to good contracting process; simplification and improvement of templates; creation and adoption of contracting aids (such as playbooks); acceptance of prudent risk taking; and by proactively spotting common issues and trends that need addressing through change.
  • Overseeing management of outside counsel relationships, workflow, and budget.
  • Facilitating training and education efforts, including case study-based training to the relevant Leadership Teams.
  • Coordinating support for the MedTech manufacturing facilities located in the EMEA region and raising awareness of Supply Chain considerations with the GLO members in the region.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with 8+ years of relevant practicing legal experience preferred.
  • Experience of managing, drafting, and negotiating complex agreements, in-house at a multi-national corporation, or at a large or mid-sized reputable law firm.
  • Experience or strong interest in the healthcare sector and the MedTech sector, in particular.
  • Proven track record of anticipating, assessing, and mitigating legal risk.
  • Experienced in building alignment across a multi-functional team, particularly those outside the direct reporting structure.
  • Proven ability to provide outstanding legal services to, and interact with, a range of senior executives.
  • Solution and business-oriented team player, with an ability to take a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (listening and communication), ability to lead through influence and to challenge the status quo and to work efficiently in a matrixed, cross-functional, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent in written and oral English, capable of drafting and negotiating in English.
  • Ability to manage conflicts in an open and constructive manner.
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and ability to simplify complicated issues for clients.
  • Able to set an example and ensure high ethical, legal and compliance standards.
  • Good self-awareness, constructive mentality, eager to seek and receive feedback.
  • Experience of Supply Chain contracts, technology outsourcing and/or software/technology procurement would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • This role may include some international travel, the exact % or which will depend on the location of the role but should not exceed 10%. Relocation expenses will not be paid/reimbursed.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
