Johnson & Johnson’s Electrophysiology Division, Biosense Webster (JJMT EP), a member of the Medical Devices Franchise, is recruiting for a Medical Affairs Scientist- Electrophysiology, located in Irvine, CA.
JJMT EP is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology with the development of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter. The introduction of the company’s CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by increasing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure. Job Summary
This Medical Affairs Scientist will be responsible for supporting one or several product development projects within the JJMT EP’s product portfolio while fostering strong, productive relationships with colleagues across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute computational models for pulsed field ablation
- Responsible for executing the pre-clinical strategy to support product characterization and design features
- Collaborate with evidence generation colleagues for evidence generation for new and existing PFA products to support regulatory approval/clearance
- Provide scientific and test method expertise during study design development
- Education
- PhD with relevant experience in Engineering, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Science and/or pulsed field model development is recommended.
- Experience
- An understanding of cardiac anatomy and medical devices is required.
- A minimum of 3 years working on pre-clinical models is required, with chronic models is preferred.
- Advanced technical writing skills are required with an emphasis on organizing data and presenting findings, with demonstrated success in medical data generation, interpretation, and publications are highly preferred
- A proven working knowledge of catheter laboratory equipment and operating room procedures
- Experience in working with global cross-functional teams is required.
- Must be able to work in a high stress environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven project management skills, with a demonstrable track record of success managing multiple projects
- Must be able to collaborate well with multiple partners and work effectively in a matrix environment

$76,000.00 - $121,900.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
