Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Customer Data Platform Lead, located in New Brunswick, NJ or Raynham, MA or West Chester, PA or Warsaw, IN or Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

The Senior Manager, Global Customer Data Platform Lead will own the strategy, design, and operational rollout of a Customer Data Platform (CDP) capability for DePuy Synthes, leveraging Sitecore AI CDP as the core technology. Reporting to the Director, Global Digital Experience Platform, this role will drive capture, unification, activation, and governance of customer and digital touchpoint data across the global Digital Experience Platform (DXP) to deliver measurable business outcomes. The Global Customer Data Platform Lead will architect identity resolution and profile management approaches, lead integrations with SFDC (CRM), SFMC (Marketing Automation), 3rd Party SaaS, and SAP (ERP), and partner with analytics, privacy, and commercial stakeholders to enable real-time personalization, audience activation, and reliable measurement.

This is a strategic, hands-on, build-and-scale role focused on standing up an enterprise-grade CDP that powers personalization, orchestration, and analytics across markets and business units.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & CDP Roadmap

  • Define the CDP vision, roadmap, and prioritized use cases aligned to commercial and digital objectives.
  • Establish canonical data models, event taxonomy, identity graphs, and profile schemas required for personalization and measurement.
  • Prioritize CDP features (real-time ingest, streaming, batch processing, identity stitching, audience management, consent-aware activations) based on business impact and compliance.

Data Capture, Integration & Pipelines

  • Design robust data capture from Sitecore AI DXP, web/mobile events, product catalogs, clinical interactions, and other touchpoints.
  • Lead integrations with SFDC, SFMC, SAP, analytics platforms, DAM, consent management, and enterprise data lakes.
  • Implement reliable ETL/ELT, streaming pipelines, APIs, and reconciliation patterns to meet latency SLAs and ensure data integrity.

Identity Resolution & Profile Management

  • Develop deterministic and probabilistic identity resolution strategies to create unified customer profiles while honoring consent and data residency.
  • Define merge/suppression logic, enrichment processes, and profile lifecycle management.

Audience Management & Activation

  • Build audience definitions and activation paths for on-site personalization, SFMC campaigns, CRM actions, and downstream systems.
  • Ensure audience syncs are timely, auditable, and privacy aware.

Governance, Privacy & Data Quality

  • Partner with Data Governance, Privacy, Legal, and Regulatory teams to embed consent, retention, residency, and suppression rules into CDP processes.
  • Define access controls, audit trails, data lineage, and monitoring for data quality and compliance.

Measurement, Experimentation & ROI

  • Work with Analytics and Commercial teams to measure engagement, conversion, and downstream impact of CDP-driven activations.
  • Enable experimentation frameworks and dashboards that leverage profile and event data for optimization and attribution.

Operationalization & Enablement

  • Produce runbooks, onboarding guides, and self-service tooling for marketers, CRM owners, and platform teams.
  • Define SLAs, monitoring, incident response, and data quality controls for CDP operations.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage Sitecore CDP relationships and third-party integration partners; define scopes, SLAs, and success metrics.
  • Evaluate complementary technologies (streaming, identity resolution, orchestration) as required.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional teams (data engineers, analytics, platform engineers, product owners, vendor teams) to deliver CDP capabilities.
  • Evangelize CDP value and best practices across marketing, digital, and commercial stakeholders to drive adoption.

Strategic Impact

This role will directly contribute to:

  • Creating a single, consent-aware source of truth for customer and digital behavior to enable personalized experiences and improved commercial outcomes
  • Reducing time-to-activation for audiences and campaigns with standardized CDP processes
  • Ensuring auditable, compliant use of customer data across marketing and product channels
  • Improving measurement, attribution, and ROI for digital initiatives
