Description du Poste
L’agent(e) de liaison scientifique médicale (MSL) agit comme représentant(e) scientifique sur le terrain pour les Affaires médicales de JJIM et est responsable de l’exécution du plan des sciences médicales. Il/elle constitue le principal point de contact scientifique pour les intervenants clés (Key Individuals – KI) sur son territoire et contribue à répondre aux besoins médicaux, scientifiques et de recherche.
Responsabilités principales (non limitatives) :
Maintenir une expertise scientifique à jour en participant régulièrement à des congrès scientifiques, cliniques et économiques, à des formations et à des stages d’observation, afin de traduire les données en connaissances applicables et en outils de communication.
Diffuser, analyser et présenter les données cliniques et scientifiques de manière équilibrée et objective auprès des leaders d’opinion et d’autres professionnels de la santé, en groupe ou en rencontres individuelles.
Établir et maintenir des relations solides avec les professionnels de la santé fondées sur une crédibilité scientifique reconnue.
Développer du matériel de communication scientifique (présentations) pour diffusion auprès des professionnels de la santé et soutenir les activités lors de congrès.
Mettre en œuvre une stratégie de leadership scientifique régional par un dialogue crédible et éclairé avec les intervenants clés.
Diriger et/ou participer à des forums médicaux et scientifiques (ex. : comités consultatifs, formations médicales continues).
Soutenir les programmes de développement clinique de phase IIIB/IV, tant au niveau local que global.
Contribuer à l’identification des sites, au recrutement des patients et au suivi des visites.
Participer à l’interprétation des résultats, aux analyses post hoc et à la collaboration scientifique avec les chercheurs.
Soutenir les études initiées par les chercheurs en évaluant les propositions de recherche, en alignant les intérêts des investigateurs avec les priorités de recherche de Janssen et en assurant la réalisation et la clôture adéquates des études.
Analyser les données (nouvelles et post hoc) afin de générer des insights et contribuer, le cas échéant, aux publications scientifiques.
Fournir un soutien et des conseils cliniques aux partenaires internes (accès, formation médicale, ventes et marketing, etc.).
Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes internes afin de favoriser un échange continu d’information clinique.
Apporter une perspective médicale régionale afin d’influencer le plan intégré des Affaires médicales en complément des plans ILCP (Integrated Lifecycle Plan).
Contribuer au plan de publications scientifiques des Affaires médicales.
Qualifications :
Diplôme universitaire en sciences ou dans un domaine de la santé requis, avec expertise significative dans l’aire thérapeutique; un MD, PhD ou PharmD est un atout.
Bilinguisme requis (français et anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit)
en raison de la nécessité d’interagir à la fois avec des partenaires locaux et des partenaires opérant exclusivement en anglais.
Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie pharmaceutique, pouvant être compensé par une solide expérience clinique et/ou scientifique pertinente; expérience démontrée dans des stratégies commerciales, médicales ou de développement clinique.
Connaissance de l’aire thérapeutique visée est un atout; capacité à développer une expertise dans d’autres domaines selon les besoins du pipeline et des priorités d’affaires.
Capacité démontrée à apprendre rapidement, à assimiler de grandes quantités d’information et à établir des relations durables.
Expérience démontrée dans la gestion de programmes cliniques/scientifiques de façon autonome, incluant la gestion complète de projets, du concept à la publication.
Bonne connaissance des BPC (GCP), du Code IMC et des politiques de conformité en soins de santé; expérience dans un environnement régi par des SOP.
Pensée stratégique et capacité éprouvée à exécuter avec rigueur.
Excellentes habiletés de communication auprès d’intervenants experts et non experts.
Capacité à vulgariser et à communiquer efficacement des données complexes.
Esprit critique développé, solides compétences en gestion de projets et influence positive sur la prise de décision.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is the field-based advocate of JJIM Medical Sciences and are accountable for the execution of the Medical Sciences Plan. They are the scientific point of contact for key individuals (KIs) in a given territory and help address medical, scientific and research needs.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Maintain up-to-date scientific expertise with regular attendance at key scientific/clinical/economic conferences, training sessions and preceptorships to translate data into applicable knowledge and communication platform.
· Disseminate, review and present clinical and scientific data in a balanced, unbiased manner, to key opinion leaders and other HCPs, in group and one-on-one settings.
· Build strong relationships with HCPs based on scientific credibility.
· Develop scientific communication materials (slide presentations) for dissemination to HCPs through contacts and meetings and provide congress support.
· Ensure a regional scientific leadership strategy via credible and informed scientific dialogue with KIs.
· Lead/participate in medical and scientific forums (e.g., ad boards and CMEs) where KIs are involved.
· Support phase IIIB/IV local and global clinical development program
· Critical contributor to site identification, patient enrollment, and follow-up visits.
· Assist in the interpretation of results, post-hoc analyses, and research collaboration with investigators
· Support investigator-initiated studies by fielding and assessing research requests, aligning investigator interests with Janssen’s research needs, and engaging investigators to ensure the successful execution and satisfactory completion of studies.
· Analyze data – new and post hoc – to develop insights and contribute to publications as appropriate.
· Provide expert clinical consultation and support to business partners (e.g. Access, Medical Education, Sales and Marketing etc. as appropriate).
· Partner and collaborate with in-house business partners to facilitate ongoing exchange of clinical information.
· Provide regional medical perspective to influence the integrated Medical Affairs plan which complements the ILCP (Integrated Lifecycle) plans.
· Support the Medical Science publication plan.
Qualifications:
· University degree in science or health-related field at a minimum with significant therapeutic area expertise; MD and/or PhD, PharmD preferred.
· Fluency in English and French (written, verbal) is required.
· Minimum of 3 years business experience in the pharmaceutical industry, which can be balanced against a strong clinical and/or scientific background in a relevant therapy area - proven track record of contribution to commercial, medical and/or clinical development strategies
· Knowledge of the therapeutic area of interest is an asset, should have the ability to acquire expertise in other therapeutic areas and products, depending on pipeline and/or changing business priorities
· Have a proven ability to learn quickly, assimilate and distill large amounts of information and build and maintain relationships.
· Demonstrated experience of managing clinical/ scientific programs with a high degree of autonomy, including successfully managing significant programs from study concept to publication.
· Strong knowledge of GCP, IMC code and Healthcare Compliance policies and procedures. Familiarity with working in an environment guided by SOPs.
· Strategic thinking and positive track record of flawless execution.
· Proven ability to effectively communicate information to KIs, as well as non-experts.
· Ability to put data into perspective and communicate it concisely, as required.
· Demonstrated critical thinking, strong project management skills and ability to impact decision making with relevant stakeholders.
· Business acumen, including prioritization skills and big picture orientation.
· Scientific knowledge, curiosity, familiarity and interest to keep abreast of scientific trends within the therapeutic area.
· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and follow through in a field-based role.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
Additional requirements:
· Ability to travel nationally as well as internationally
· Ability to travel 50-60% of the time (customer facing position).
· Overnight travel may be required as much as 1-2 times per week on average, depending upon region covered.
