Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. Purpose:
The Demand Planner is responsible for translating market signals into actionable plans that ensure product availability, inventory optimization, and high customer service levels across the portfolio. This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Central Supply Planning teams to support the Integrated Business Planning process and manages product lifecycle changes.
The Demand Planner helps implement projects, programs, and processes in support of the organization's overall SC strategy. Applies theoretical knowledge of the Demand Planning field to carry out procedures and plans for the area. Supports the improvement of the statistical forecasting knowledge and insights extraction from data in various forms, either structured or unstructured, which is a continuation of the data analysis fields such as statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics.
The Demand Planner manages the demand planning process for assigned product categories, ensuring robust short, medium, and long-term forecasts.
This position leads alignment with cross-functional stakeholders to build a consensus forecast and supports the Central Planning team during the monthly demand reviews within the IBP cycle.
The Demand Planner highlights risks and opportunities related to supply continuity, excess and obsolete stock, new product launches (NPI), phase-ins, phase-outs (PIPO), and service performance.
The Demand Planner maintains demand data in planning and ERP systems, monitors planning KPIs, and performs root cause analysis on forecast deviations.
As an Analyst Demand Planning, you will:
Facilitate consensus forecasting with Commercial, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain stakeholders, supporting with inputs and analysis on market events, customer inputs to identify demand drivers
Support the monthly IBP cycle with demand assumptions, scenarios, risks, and recommendations
Closely work with Central Planning team to ensure required service levels, Inventory health, and execute corrective actions
Review and optimize safety stock levels to ensure the right balance between customer demand requirements and healthy inventory levels, while anticipating potential impacts from new product introductions (NPI)
Support NPI launches, PIPO and LCM products management
Collaborate with Supply Planning to mitigate shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence risks
Support the Central team during the Demand Reviews by providing reports, dashboard and tools when required
Provides descriptive and predictive analytical support for the broader Demand Planning organization.
Supports and evaluates new methodologies and technologies to enhance the accuracy of the demand plan.
Qualifications / Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Statistic or equivalent with proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain roles. Experience in the medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred
1-2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory planning, or supply chain analytics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets;
Experience with forecasting methodologies, statistical analysis, and demand planning processes
Knowledge of ERP and planning systems such as SAP, JDE, or similar tools
Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools is an advantage
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a cross-functional environment
Fluency in English
High attention to detail, accountability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge IBP processes and demand review governance.
