Role Overview:

Reporting to the VP, AP Market Access Head, the Asia Pacific Therapeutic Area Market Access Leader (TAMAL) leads regional market access and strategic pricing for a defined therapeutic area across AP. The role brings a unified AP perspective into global strategy, ensuring payer, HTA, pricing, reimbursement, policy and evidence needs are considered early in product, clinical, launch and pricing decisions. Working with Global Market Access, AP cross-functional partners and Operating Company leaders, the TAMAL balances price, value, speed of access and patient reach across diverse markets. The role is accountable for sustainable access outcomes, launch readiness, pricing governance, policy shaping, and development of regional market access talent and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shape AP market access strategy and global influence

  • Represent AP payer, HTA, pricing, reimbursement, policy and evidence priorities in global product, clinical, launch and access decisions.
  • Translate regional market dynamics into portfolio choices, value strategies and senior leadership recommendations.

2. Lead TA access strategy, pricing governance and portfolio execution

  • Lead TA market access and pricing strategies across AP, including launch readiness, reimbursement strategies, value tools and negotiation scenarios.
  • Enable disciplined pricing governance, PRIT review, portfolio trade-offs, business planning, LRFP inputs and resource prioritization.

3. Drive execution excellence and enterprise decision quality

  • Partner with regional, country and cross-functional leaders to align access, pricing, evidence, policy and commercial priorities with measurable business outcomes.
  • Strengthen execution discipline by clarifying decision ownership, managing launch risks, monitoring KPIs and driving timely corrective actions.

4. Build market access capability, talent and leadership

  • Set a clear vision, simplify complexity and mobilize teams around shared AP market access priorities.
  • Develop market access and strategic pricing talent through coaching, succession planning, OpCo exposure, payer negotiation capability and enterprise leadership.

5. Shape policy and future access models

  • Define AP positions on priority access topics, including value of health, sustainable funding, HTA modernization, innovative listing pathways, reference pricing and RWE use.
  • Partner with APSO peers, OpCos, Government Affairs and Policy, Communications and external stakeholders to advance credible engagement, thought leadership and innovative access solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Recent and extensive pharmaceutical experience, with a demonstrated regional mindset and ability to quickly assimilate complex science and data.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in market access or a related field highly desirable.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in market access, pricing, reimbursement, HTA, policy or related pharmaceutical functions, with strong team leadership and access outcome delivery.
  • Deep knowledge of market access, strategic pricing, payer processes, HTA, evidence generation, reimbursement negotiation and policy dynamics across AP markets.
  • Senior market access experience at Operating Company and regional levels strongly preferred, including launch access strategy, reimbursement submissions, pricing negotiations and policy shaping.
  • Proven ability to lead through others, manage talent in complex organizations and deliver results through senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with R&D programs, integrated evidence generation, commercial strategy, real-world evidence and value demonstration preferred.
  • Demonstrated behaviors aligned with J&J Leadership Imperatives and Credo values, including integrity, enterprise leadership, collaboration, inclusion, urgency, results orientation and people development.
  • Country-level market access experience required, preferably in reimbursement markets with direct payer, HTA or pricing negotiation exposure.
