Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Director, Infrastructure Services, located in Bangalore, India.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Overview

The Sr. Director, Infrastructure Services is a senior IT leadership role responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise infrastructure services supporting DePuy Synthes globally. This leader will shape and execute infrastructure strategy across compute, storage, network, cloud, end‑user services, and platform operations to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology that enables business growth and innovation.

This role is highly impactful, partnering closely with business leaders, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and external partners to modernize infrastructure, improve resiliency, and optimize cost while maintaining regulatory and quality standards expected in a MedTech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the global infrastructure services strategy, aligning technology capabilities with DePuy Synthes business priorities and long‑term growth objectives.
  • Oversee delivery and operations across infrastructure domains, including data centers, cloud platforms, networks, end‑user computing, and platform services, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Lead large, geographically distributed teams and managed service partners, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and talent development.
  • Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and standardization to improve scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Quality/Compliance teams to ensure infrastructure services meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and manage service management, SLAs, KPIs, and financial controls to ensure predictable, high‑quality service delivery.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to business and IT leadership, translating complex infrastructure topics into clear business impacts and decisions.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) with a focus on technology, operations, or leadership.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 12-14 years of experience in IT infrastructure leadership, including responsibility for enterprise‑scale, global environments.
  • Strong background in cloud platforms, data center operations, network services, and end‑user computing.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technology transformation, operational excellence, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Experience working in regulated environments with strong controls, risk management, and compliance expectations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align diverse teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting MedTech, life sciences, or highly regulated global enterprises.
  • Proven experience leading large, multi‑disciplinary teams and third‑party service providers in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Hands‑on leadership in cloud migration, infrastructure automation, and service management transformation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL‑based service management and modern DevOps/Platform Operations models.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership and vendor contract management.
  • Experience leading infrastructure organizations based in or closely partnered with India delivery centers.

  • Language: Fluent English required.
  • Travel: Up to 20% international travel may be required.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ITIL, cloud provider certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure), or equivalent leadership credentials.
