Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a VP, GS Finance Lead, located in Manila, Philippines.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Role Overview

The VP, Global Services Finance Lead & Manila Site Lead is a senior executive responsible for leading Global Services (GS) Finance across Financial Compliance, Finance Operations, and Tax, while also serving as the enterprise leader for the Manila GS site.

This role combines global finance leadership with end-to-end site accountability, including employee engagement, culture building, talent development, and external brand presence. The leader will ensure strong financial governance and scalable finance operations while fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and innovative GS Manila organization.

Key Responsibilities

Global Finance Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight for GS Financial Compliance, Finance Operations, and Tax, ensuring adherence to global accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Lead global financial reporting, statutory filings, and compliance activities in partnership with regional and market teams.
  • Drive robust financial governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and risk mitigation controls.
  • Partner with audit, risk, and business leadership to manage audits, remediation, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Deliver strategic financial insights and guidance to senior leadership to support enterprise decision-making and transformation.

Global Services Finance Transformation

  • Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across GS finance processes to enhance scalability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Lead transformation initiatives aligned to a global shared services model, ensuring best-in-class service delivery.
  • Leverage digital capabilities, analytics, and process innovation to modernize finance operations globally.

Manila Site Leadership

  • Serve as Site Lead for Manila, with accountability for overall site performance, engagement, and employee experience.
  • Champion culture building, fostering an inclusive, high-performance, and values-driven environment.
  • Lead learning and development strategy, ensuring strong talent pipelines, leadership development, and capability building across functions.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and organizational health outcomes across the GS Manila population.
  • Act as the senior enterprise representative for the Manila site, strengthening cross-functional alignment and leadership visibility.

External Brand & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Represent the organization externally in the Manila market to build a strong employer brand and reputation.
  • Develop relationships with key external stakeholders including industry groups, universities, and talent ecosystems.
  • Position the Manila site as a strategic global hub for talent, innovation, and operational excellence.

Talent & Leadership Development

  • Build and lead high-performing global teams, fostering accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Develop cross-functional leadership capabilities across finance and shared services teams.
  • Mentor senior leaders and create a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) or professional certification is a plus.

Experience

  • 14+ years of progressive leadership experience in global finance or shared services environments.
  • Proven leadership in financial compliance, reporting, governance, and risk management at scale.
  • Experience leading shared services or global services organizations across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, multi-functional teams and driving enterprise transformation initiatives.
